Great clinb and the views are great. The wild life is in abundance and a must for the fit. This site lies just across the way from the cable car to the redeemer.
It worth to go up walking, it is an easy trail, you find monkeys all the way, very funny. It starts close to Pao de Azucar ticket office using the Claudio Coutinho train, and you have amazing views from the beach. After walking 1 or 2 kms there is the trail to Morro da Urca at the left. It doesn't have a very big sign, it is possible to ignore it (it happen to us). The view from Morro is very beautiful and you can enjoy an acai or something else to drink. We had to walk down because the only way to go down in the cable car was to buy the tickets in advance, or to wait after 7 pm.
So easy to access, and amazing views! About 10 min walk from the subway station..and cost about R60 to go to Morro da urca+ Sugar Loaf together
It's a very beautiful and bucolic neighborhood in sunny Rio de Janeiro. The sunset here is spectacular! Besides, it's intimately connected to the history of the city.
It a middle point to the pain de azucar and the sight is nothing special compare to the top but you can have a walk around.
It's possible and quite easy to walk it. Very very beautiful! There are some benches on the top to relax and watch the view or read a book, cafes, shops, bathrooms.Wondefrul for sunset! The last cable car down is for free:)
A good tip to those that enjoy a bit of trekking is climbing to Morro da Urca through the trail that starts at "Caminho Claudio Coutinho". The path begins on the left side of Praia Vermelha. The walk is quite easy and takes 25-35 minutes, I've made it with my 6 years daughter a couple times.Important: they're not selling one way tickets anymore on Morro da Urca. If you want to go down using the cable car you can do it for free after 7pm.That could be a cheap option to enjoy the view!
is the same , very very beautifull , you will find park station and a very good restaurant ! The sign is fantastic , you will can see the city and the sea too !"
The hike/walk up the mountain is pretty easy but still a decent bit of exercise and rewarding when you reach the top - incredible views!! It's also free instead of paying for the cable car up. You can't get to the top of sugar loaf itself but it's no big deal, we sat and split an acai watching the day begin from the top which was awesome. Super cute monkeys everywhere too!
Just as impressive as Sugar loaf as they are next to each otherthe view up there is amazing as from the ground it doesnt look that highIts a smooth face rock...also saw some daredevil rock climbing
