It took me about 45 minutes to get there from Barra da Tijuca. When I got there the beach was crowded, and its hell to park here. The carioca drivers have no education, so be prepared for war on wheels.I regret going here, should I've stayed in Barra da Tijuca's beach, also crowded
A smaller stretch of sand than the neighbor beach of Grumari, therefore it can get crowded. The ocean is mostly very agitated so it's hard to swim. Beware of the people selling things: they charge a ridiculous amount of money there because it is farther from everything else so you have less options. It is a beautiful beach, nonetheless with a beautiful landscape.
Its a 30 min to 1hr drive from Rio. Depends on the time of day and traffic. I stayed in recreio so it was a 10 min drive to get to and it was worth it. Such a quiet nook and so much space to surf.
One of the most private beach in Rio. You have to go early or after 4pm, because it is so crowded that the police closes the way.
Great place to relax, get a tan and enjoy some local flavours. Safe and easily accessible. Don't miss it
If you have some extra time in rio, it's worth going....lots of waves... Not the ideal place just for swimming !
If you have a car or staying close to Recreo, this is a must visit place. The beach is really nice, not calm but surrounded with rock and nature makes this a perfect scenery. Make sure to arrive early, in some times of the year parking get pack early.
Ok place, but far away. Bus ride not worth it, and parking very difficult. Maybe a bike or scooter is better. If you are a surfer go with friends as lifeguards not always on duty
This is a almost unexplored beach, with all the nature surrounding it! It is a Environment Protect Area, so that means it will remain like this for ever! Don't miss it, but you must arrive before 10 am because they close the entrance to control the numbers of cars!
That's a really nice small beach! Great for surfing, big waves. There is a cafe as well.I think it is only possible to go by car and it's about an hour from Copacobana.
