Victoria Park is an annual holiday tradition with our family. When the park is lit for Christmas it is truly magical. We all go skating at the out door rink and enjoy hot chocolate. Unfortunately the park didn't seem to have as many trees lit up this year as in the past but it was still magical.
Sure, it's neither Central Park nor Stanley Park, but with acres of lush lawns, countless trees, walking paths, a band shell and winter ice skating, what's not to like?
beautiful park in the heart of London, amazing summer festival almost every weekend, great shopping along Richmond row across from park. Grab a coffee from Williams and have a beautiful walk in the park.
Nice park to visit. Parking around the park is limited. Have to use side streets. Many festivals during the summer. Events are free with merchants selling their wares. People do bring dogs, but i wish they wound not. Park downtown near churches and many watering holes and store merchants. Rib-fest August 1st long weekend... great ribs as well as the hot air balloon festival. Summer has a festival nearly every weekend...all free. Hotels nearby.
A nice little park, the trees are all lit and there is a rink offered at the center. The paths are simple, it would be nice to see some covered seating areas, and maybe some local foodtrucks (or food in general) that let you enjoy and then go play. Still a beautiful place to walk through in the heart of downtown that holds many festivals throughout the year
Great place to take a mid-day walk or eat lunch. Weekends are packed with fun activities (free events).
The Christmas lights are up again! This is my favourite time of year to visit the park. The trees are covered with thousands of brightly coloured lights and the ice is on the skating rink. This park is a real gem for London.
Living right across the street, and having a dog that I walk in the park daily; I feel like Victoria Park is a second home. I try to compete with them for Christmas Decorations in the winter, and Floral Displays in the summer. I was "warned" that I wouldn't like my apartment facing the park because of the numerious concerts and festivals in the park. Quite the contrary. I feel I've got the best seats for these events, and drinks and food are much cheaper at my place, and I don't need to travel.
The festivals the park holds make the summer time rather magnificent. As does the ice rink in the winter time. However, beyond that the park is rather boring. It is nice to sit in or walk through, but there's simply not much to it. There is no play area for children. They have blocked off the stage by large gates-it looks unsightly.
They should install a fenced areas designated for off leash dogs. I understand that there are dog parks in the area, but it would be nice to have one here for those who have no automobile and cannot take their dogs on the public transit to bring them to other dog parks.
