Though we enjoy L'Ecole wines, the tasting room experience was quite disappointing. Not sure if it was just under-staffed but the service was quite poor. Sort of like a cattle car to rush you through.
This is a converted old schoolhouse fromt he early days of Walla Walla. They have a broad range of wines which are excellent. I had the chance to taste their syrahs from 1998 and 2001, and they were absolutely superb, having developed incredible bottle aromas. Their current wines show great promise, both the whites and reds. They have a very well-apportioned tasting room that's big enough to accomodate the visitors they get. Very highly recommended!
We love big bold reds and some whites, but didn't find anything appealing about these wines. We paid the tasting fee and left without buying a bottle.
Set in a picturesque old schoolhouse, this winery is a fun place to visit and sample some great wines. Few wineries present quality all across the board, but L'Ecole No. 41 does reds, whites, even roses right. I prefer their estate Merlot and most of their reds are terrific. My wife really enjoyed their Rose and Semillion. They also make a tasty chocolate merlot sauce. Don't miss this stop!
Friendly and very willing to discuss wines and tasting techniques. Its fright off Highway 12, on the east side of the very small town of Touchet.
This gorgeous old school house has been transformed into a winery. It's charming and fun to explore. The wine is great and the atmosphere is fun. We took our baby here on a holiday Monday and had the place to ourselves until another small group arrived. There are other wineries nearby and it's right off the highway, so it's very convenient.
Bring a wine to trade and ask to see the private cellar! Great place to visit and closest to Cameo Hieghts Mansion
Very nice. Put it on your list. There are many nice vineyards in the area and you should put this one on your list. Thgis was our first one of Four we visited in a day. We got to try 7 wines for 5$, but it ended up being free because we bought a bottle.
L'ecole is one of the original wineries in the area located in an old school house. They have a fantastic and beautiful wine-tasting room. There are many great wines served here and any wine lover who is experiencing Washington St. wines must make this a stop. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. It is right next to Woodward Canyon another one of the original wineries and both of these are must stops for the area.
We visited L'Ecole and enjoyed our experience very much. The bartender was very busy but still made time to talk to us, not just to give us the standard wine descriptions but also to answer questions about production, the building, and the vineyards. The tasting room also has nice chocolates and breadsticks available for palate cleansing. The wines were sometimes not to our taste, but they were all varied and interesting. We ended up really enjoying several whites and purchased several bottles.
