Ljubljana Castle is a beautiful visit. The view from the top is amazing. The exhibits within are well thought out and easy to understand. They pay tribute to many historical events, and I learned alot.Very cool
Easy to reach on furnicular. All the displays are well set out and they make very effective use of multi media communications to clearly tell their stories.
Not a typical place to eat because of the location but you'll find truly honest dishes at fair prices. Comfortable environment and nice staff.
one of the best spots in Ljubljana. Easy "climbing" (you can go by by cable lift too) will award you witha nice view miles and miles arround Ljubljana. There you can find very good restaurant with tipical Slovene cuisine or more noble restaurant Strelec. But just a glass of wine or a cup of coffee will make your day nicer.
You can go there for romantic moments, business meating or dinner or with a family. There are few cafes and restaurants. They have great choice of premium wine. I realy recomend this place, because it's must go place if you are in Slovenia.
Visited the castle but with the exception of the views not much to see. Its an old castle with a modern inside . I expected more history. Also paid for the 3d show which was out of order. The city has much to offer and thank god we did not walk up the road
You can either walk, drive or take the funicular up to the castle. Inside the castle you walk up on one of the castle walls and enjoy the view over city and far more if weather is appropriate.I recommend that you also climb the tower for a small fee and have even better view. There are two restaurants on the castle one rather posh and pricey one and one located in teh courtyard which servers very good food and is quite reasonable priced taking the location on the top tourist attraction in account.Plan with 30-45min for a visit
The tower is really worth to see, a short walk up to the castle and then the great viewing tower. The price of 4€ is really worth this view.
It is an easy funicular ride to the castle with great views from the top. The castle itself is not very impressive or interesting
Ljubljanski Grad is a hill of only 0,3 km2 but quite diverse and with well preserved natural forests and grassland, easily accessible from all foothills and with a comfortable turistic fortress offering one of the best views to the city and vicinity. Unfortunatelly, the fortress architecture is spoiled by some modern iron-concrete buildings, but superficially it is not so much disturbing. Spontaneous flora on the hill is quite rich with about 500 known species of vascular plants so any time of the year a nice escape to the nature is available just above the city.Flora is presented in a blog: http://floragradu.blogspot.com/
