We strolled through the park at dusk on a chilly December evening the park has many interesting botanical species of trees, but they are not labeled. It was fun watching the sun set behind Lugano as the Ducks and swans prepared for the night.
Next to the lake this is just a splendid way to fill a morning walking and people watching.Lots of places to sit and enjoy the lake , watch the boats and swans and pass some time.
The "Parco Civico" is just another city park at the boarder of a lake, nonetheless it's beautiful! Aaaand: I really enjoyed the Park&Read (the reason why I had to leave a comment here :-) )! Great idea, loved it!
We really liked strolling in this park which has a wonderful view on the monte San Salvatore. Recommended!
Hello the name is parco ciani and not civico please make corrections... it is a nice park with playground for the cildren
Right in the center of Lugano, I went there with my wife and kid for a lovely promenade by the lake on a bright springtime afternoon. You will find a great variety of plants and flowers as well as a lovely scenery, you can appreciate the lake from different angles. At the center of the park there is a former estate main building surrounded by multicoloured tulips.Children can enjoy the free outdoor play area towards the end of the Parco Ciani, with wooden equipment like swings, slides, knotted rope, sand area etc.We were also lucky to see an open-air music performance around the gardens entrance. While the park is rather small, its pleasantness makes it well worth visiting.
I liked the view to the lake and mountains - nice quiet place to relax and think about eternity =) also in walking distance to the Monte Bre funicular and the historical center. Good variant for good weather - but nothing to do there if it's a rainy day.
This park is simply beautiful! It is adjacent to the lovely Lake Lugano. There are several types of different person water crafts you can peddle on the lake. You can feed the ducks, geese, swans, or other water foul that come near the shore. The trees, shrubs, and flowers are lush, healthy and well maintained. There is also a LARGE playground area for the children. There are also ample benches for sitting and just enjoying the beautiful mountains in the background. I highly recommend you visit this wonderful "free" experience!
I spent a beautiful few hours here enjoying the park. Though not terribly large, it is scenic and even in October, there were still plants and trees in bloom. It was lovely to see people of all ages out and about enjoying the park, walking, reading, talking and enjoying the sunshine. It is conveniently located in the eastern edge of downtown, just past the casino, so easy to get to and well work a visit.
The park is located at the east end of the lake. The park is beautifully landscaped and maintained. Flowers are blooming, even at the end of September. It is an ideal place to sit down, watch the lake and people, and enjoy a gelato.
