Following advice from some of the forums on TA, we took the Fall River entrance to the national park. This is a large visitor center with lots of information and displays about some of the plants and animals that you will find inside the park. I talked with a park ranger about the best way to proceed through the park and got the necessary booklets for the kids to complete for their Junior Ranger badges. After a few minutes we went to the adjoining gift shop. This place was huge. The souvenirs stretched floor to ceiling and wall to wall, anything and everything you could possibly want for Rocky Mountain National Park, and also a bunch of stuff that didn’t have anything to with the park. We even discovered a staircase that went down to a lower level of more stuff! We decided that it would be best to think about souvenirs after we visited the park. I would recommend the Fall River Visitor Center.
We stopped here before going on a two hour trail ride next door. The center was wonderful and we bought some gifts at the shop attached. A must stop if you are entering the park.
This visitors center is quite large. It has a huge gift shop with everything imaginable you may want to remember your mountain vacation. There is a small grocery store there as well.
Be sure to stop here. They have an excellent selection of souvenirs, clothing, etc. And prices are reasonable for a tourist area.
Rangers are very knowledgable and friendly. They surely know a lot about wild animals and the park. They take a extra step and help you understand and know the park better.
This was our favorite VC in RMNP. It had interesting displays & seemed open & airy. It was the first of the 5 we visited. There is a gift shop inside, but next door is a huge gift shop called Gateway. It had everything! Don't miss this one.
The is a very nice visitor center and the Ranger staff is very helpful. They have a very well stocked gift shop with almost everything National Park you would want. Clean restrooms and a good place to take a short rest.
Big, informative, good place to eat as well. Nice gateway into the RMNP. This is a lesser used entrance into the park and the center is a great place to stop before entering or even exiting.
Museum, Tiny Candy Shop, Restaurant and Huge Gift Shop!Worth a visit before and/or after RMNP...Museum- quick, fun and TONS of knowledge. Candy Shop- sweet and satisfying but in Estes Park there are local candy shops that are grand so this one is just average. Gift Shop- the best in the whole area. seriously huge, tons of great priced items. 2 levels. includes elevator. clean big bathrooms on main floor. Restaurant: didn't visit.
very drivable road on non pavement, but great views...visitor center is at end of this road and has good bathrooms, gift shop, etc.
