Nice local winery, withFabulous wine.....the best we ever tasted.....wonderful staff especially McKenzie! :) and local music! Good time
Fun little place with lots of live music, outdoor bocci ball and locally made wine. The owners are frequently there and they are gracious hosts.
Go and wind (wine?) down on the back patio, or sit inside at one of the cozy tables, you'll just love the place!! Wonderful wine, and take a tour, and learn how they make the wines! Fabulous!! ❤️❤️❤️
The Walnut Street Winery is rapidly becoming one of my favorite haunts. The wine is reliably pleasant, and the easygoing tasting menu of both dry and sweet selections is worth exploring. Also, the location is fantastic. It's a very easy drive from downtown Springfield, and both the inside seating and the wine garden are great for casual conversation. Perhaps unsurprisingly, this venue attracts a mellow and friendly crowd, as well as some talented musicians. I've had good experiences visiting the Walnut Street Winery alone, with my fiance, and with family. Definitely worth checking out!
I like stopping at Wineries when we travel and this one caught our eye because of its name. We also live on a walnut street. It is a country style relaxing winery with the best wine. Hospitality was wonderful and in the summer they even have live entertainment. We enjoyed it and wish it was closer. We want to go back soon.
The Walnut Street Winery is one the best kept secrets in the Springfield area. The wine is outstanding, and you can do a taste test for just $3. Local bands and singer songwriters come through regularly to create a cozy, home-like atmosphere. During the summer, their back patio area is perfect for friends who'd like to play bocce ball or just sit out and relax. It's absolutely worth the drive - Sundays are the best days to go for open mic events in the afternoons.
By far my favorite venue for relaxing fun, great wine and always nice people. Whether I drop by just by myself (which I do often), with a couple of friends, or with a larger group I am NEVER disappointed. It is so nice to have a gathering place that caters to those who want a bit more than blasting music, swaying crowds, etc. The wine is outstanding...I can never decide between the Merlot or the Shiraz because both are excellent. The live music is a wonderful blend of folk artists, blues, country, old favorites and original songs (occasionally a small cover charge on Fri and Sat nights)...also really enjoy the two open mike session each week on Wednesdays and Sundays. The outdoor patio is a blast in the nice months...brats on the grill, nice dance floor, and of course the bocce ball court. (My last visit was none of the choices below...we were holding a celebration of my mom's life following her memorial. She would have totally approved of the good time we had remembering her over several glasses of wine.)
Thank you for the very kind review.
The Walnut Street Winery has become a "must do" when visiting Springfield. My sister who lives in Springfield introduced us to the Walnut Street Winery and now we insist on going whenever we visit. We love the cozy atmosphere, great live music, friendly eclectic crowd and playing bocce ball. We also love the wine - crafted with care and skill. The Pinot Grigio is just incredibly drinkable - crisp and refreshing. We are from Wisconsin and the brats on the grill during our last visit were exceptional.Trip Adviser requires me to select what type of visit this was from a too limited list. Our last gathering at the winery were all adult members of our extended family. We had a great time. I recommend this place for gatherings of friends, for couples, for business entertainment, solo and with adult family members.
Wonderful selections of wines and tidbits. They have great local made pizza to choose from. This is a great place to visit with friends and unwind.
