We love visiting the Winery. We've shared NM wines as gifts. We've shopped in the gift store for specialty gifts - the green chile jelly and the chocolates are great. We love to meet friends for a little get away. The staff is attentive, the atmosphere is comfy. Great place!
Hubby and I sampled beer and wine. I normally don't like beer but the Alien beer was surprisingly good. No "blech" after taste. The wines were good too. Hubby got a mix and match 6 pack of Alien beer and I got a couple bottles of galactic wine. Nice reminders of our trip.
Not only do they have free wine tasting but it also is an interesting shop with wine related things. The people were very friendly and there is a place to sit down and have a glass of beer or a glass of wine. We felt very welcome here and the wines were good.
After having our fill of alien attractions, we stopped in to see what the "free tasting" was all about. Our hostess was very pleasant and asked if we preferred sweet or dry wines. We said dry so she set up a couple of glasses and began pouring. She did a nice job of explaining the different wines we were tasting and a little bit about the wineries themselves. All the wines are made from grapes grown in New Mexico. We are not wine snobs, but we did notice that several of the wines were "fruit forward" (our kind of wine). We liked most of what she poured. After tasting wines, we got to try three local draft beers. The oatmeal stout was excellent, much smoother than you would expect from the dark color. We ended up buying a couple of bottles to take on our journey and some souvenirs. The hostess recommended a place for lunch we we also liked. Try Martin's Capital Cafe for a hearty Mexican lunch.Tip - Check with your hotel to see if they have a 15% coupon for all purchases at Pecos Winery
They were closing for Yoga & Wine class but they welcomed us. Tried a pepper wine and asked some questions. Still no hurry out. They lady who helped was very nice and we explained we were from out of town. I didn't get her name because she was dressed for Yoga.
Thanks for coming! We are glad you stopped by! Enjoy those NM brews!
Thanks for the review. We are sorry that was your experience - we would love to make it up to you.Hope to see you back!-Josh
We stopped by and the gentleman was extremely knowledgeable. We told him what types of wine we liked and he knew immediately what types of wine to reccomend. He was a very pleasant and very outgoing. Then we he found out we were in town for a wedding he recommended an excellent champagne! All in all an excellent place to stop at!
This is an absolutely wonderful place to go. It is a very friendly atmosphere and a great place to visit with friends and try various New Mexico wines. I love going there and always end up with a new favorite wine. Whether you live in Roswell or are just passing through, make it one of your stops you won't be sorry.
My husband was working in W Texas and I had 12+ hours to venture out. Saw this place here on TripAdvisor and it sounded interesting. Plus, its Roswell! how could that not be fun for a roadtrip?! Well, Roswell and Pecos Flavors Winery did not let me down! Very knowledgable staff, not being from NM I had no idea about any of the wines in this fun little shop. The owner was right on with his suggestions. I am going to make a point to take my husband back with my next time, he will love trying the beers too. If your in the "Area" :) be sure to stop in.
