We arrived 1h earlier than it was reserved. The place was still closed, but the impressive thing was that the owner went out and said, "give me 5 min". Then he put on a jacket left out and started the tour with us. He is a simple french Sr. That decided that beside drinking wine he wanted to produce them. After the opportunity came, he quickly jumped in a world that he wouldnt imagine.Afficionted by starts and sky, all his wines have something to do with zodiacs or constellations. Great wine, with good prices and most of all be received by the one who owns the property!
Thank you for your review. I beg your apologies for not having welcomed you during your visit. I admit not having been very bright this day there! We take your comment not like a punch that would put us KO, but rather as a glass of cold water in the figure, well deserved, and which awakens us. Until then, we have had good feedback from our visitors on Trip Advisor, and we were spoiled, indeed and therefore a bit asleep.Your opinion reveals all the care that we should provide to our visitors to leave them an excellent memory of their time in Carinae, which of course is our goal. Your comment is beneficial. It will remain in our memory, and will help us to respect and satisfy all our visitors. Our team and I regret a lot of having received you in such a way. We hope that you will have the opportunity to come back to Mendoza and the desire to visit us again. You are welcome in CarinaePhilippe Subra
Carinae is a little bodega, and a warm family welcome is waiting! The owners came by to welcome us! The guides are really enthusiastic and interested in their clients. The tastings are great with more than enough wine. Great place!
This was the 2nd bodega I visited as part of a three bodega tour of Maipu and Lujan de Cujo, organized by Mendoza Wine & Tours. I was very happy with the choice. It is a small, family-owned bodega and I had the privilege of getting a personal tour from the owner, a lovely Frenchman who relocated to Mendoza in the late 1990´s. The bodega is small and you are encouraged to walk around on your own, but the best part of course is the tasting. I selected a menu of five wines (none were Malbec), ranging from the newer varietals to some of the reservas. I was so impressed with one Cabernet Sauvignon that I splurged and bought a bottle for 320 pesos. The fact that I had an hour to interrogate the owner about every aspect of producing the wine was worth far more than I paid for the tasting and the bottle. The best part of Carinae is that it is just a short drive from the city of Mendoza. I highly recommend a visit if you have a few days to spend here.
Reading the last review, I suppose it depends what you are looking for in a winery visit. I have visited wineries in just about every wine producing country (you might gather that I am into wine) and found Carinae interesting and informative. In addition they have a "passion" for what they are doing, and this came across in the tour. Another plus is that Brigitte speaks Spanish with the most wonderful French accent, but I digress. We went round with 2 couples from Buenos Aires, who knew little about wine, so it needed a certain amount of skill by Brigitte to keep us all entertained. With the tour and the tasting we were there nearly an hour and a half. You can chose your own selection of wines to taste, and price depends on quality of wine chosen. I enjoyed my tasting and thought that it was well presentedAs we were off back to Europe the next day we could not buy much of their wine, but have brought back a bottle of their sweet wine, which we hope to enjoy soon in Spain.I would certainly recommend this winery for a tour. Read the reviews and see if it is for you
Merci á vous . Cela fait vraiment plaisir de recevoir un retour comme le votreCela incite á continuerBonjour au Tarn de ma part!
Thank you very much for your visit and your review. We are very pleased that you have had a good time at our place!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. It was a pleasure to be taken round by the owner and wonderful to see the harvest in action.
We ended up in Carinae by chance, as our plans had to change. Best of lucks ever! We were the last to take the tour so had the wonderful company of Brigitte. She' s one of the owners so was on point to explain all the history not only of the winery, but of each wine creation. The Best of all the wines we had in Mendoza -OCTANS & PRESTIGEDefinitely a place to go back :)
This is a small winery that gives much atencion to every guest. We had a personal guide(the 2 of us) that knew everything we asked. The tour is complete and the place makes you feel like home. In fact,it is the home of the owner...so, imagine...And finaly, the wine...one of the best i tried!! Try malbec and syrah and you won't be dissapointed!!!
