In fairness this was my favorite because it was a truer test of my less than stellar golf abilities. If you are a single handicapper, this may not be as challenging as a couple of the other nearby courses. I consider this course fair. A bad shot doesn't always penalize you severely. The greens aren't overly contoured to make this a Master's putting contest. The topography is beautiful. Service at the pro shop was top notch. They take your clubs, they load your cart, they give you fresh water. They greet you as you end your round and after cleaning your clubs will even take you to your car to load our clubs in the trunk. A very nice golf experience.
Played the course in late January 2015.It is an excellent course that I'd play again. It's a fun, challenging course that is fair. There are a lot of scenic views during the round.
We have stayed in Mesquite several times and love the golf in the area. The best course is definitely Wolf Creek, and in our estimation, the number 2 course is Conestoga. Great condition, great layout, some beautiful views and interesting drop-offs. You can’t go wrong with this course.
This is a beautiful track....but beware if you do not like being restricted to cart path only. On the first tee they tell you cart path only on holes one and 18. While this is technically true, there are cart restrictions on several other holes especially within 100 yards of the greens.....so if you aren't a pro, you will be walking a lot. Also, course is not marked very well... would have thought for the price the carts would have had GPS.
We played this course before wolf creek and I was super happy. Quick rate of play. I kept saying if wolf creek is better than this it cant be by much. I was wrong wolf creek defiantly blew it out of the water but this was still one of the best courses ive ever played. Thumbs up and then some. Staff was great as well.
Played here in mid October as I couldn't get onto Sand Hollow. So I booked Conestoga as a last minute option and was glad I did. From arriving to leaving the staff couldn't be more helpful. The course was one of the best I played on my trip. Most of the holes offered up some challenges for all handicaps but all in all if your a weekend warrior you won't be severely penalised. For the lower handicap longer hitters like myself there is plenty of risk reward. My next trip to Mesquite and surrounding areas will include playing Conestoga.
Amazing course conditions (fastest greens I have ever played on), customer service, food and price. Book through teeoff.com
This course is a great layout, about a 90 minute drive from the strip in Las Vegas. My friend and I have played the gem of the area, Wolf Creek. Conestoga is like a mini-version of Wolf Creek. Whereas WC has spectacular views from every hole, Conestoga has a spectacular front nine with a much more user-friendly back nine. The course was in spectacular shape in February. If you go to the course, make sure you check teeoff.com for specials. They usually run deals for half the price you'll pay on the course's website (with limited times, of course). If you don't want to pay the ridiculous prices to play Wolf Creek, give Conestoga a shot.
excellent and difficult course. many elevations changes on the course. drives and 2nd shots must deal with shooting over desert. greens seem to have less break than what is seen. staff polite and helpful.
A close second to Wolf Creek. Its a must play in Mesquite. Some blind shots with some narrow landing areas. Play it safe and you'll be fine.
