We have been playing here for the last few years and were we shocked when we saw the deplorable conditions of this course. The greens were unputtable and grass was hard to find on the fairways. Don't spend the money for this place when you can play the other Mesquite courses!
Played there with five other foursomes. The fairways were in good shape and the greens all rolled about the same. Pace of play was good. Rough is brown but that's the way it is on most courses in the area at this time of year. This is a fun course to play and we were treated good by the staff. They have a good range also.
Front nine very open, back nine simply sensational. Well stocked clubhouse... Fine 19th hole, very friendly service.
My son and I have played many rounds of golf in Mesquite but we never had played this course. Seeing it from the street, the dormant rough looked rather odd, but on the course the contrast with the green fairways was stunning. This is a course that will satisfy the avid golfer as well as the weekend or occasional golfer. As with many of the Mesquite area courses, there is plently of elevation changes, water hazards and well-placed sand traps. Fairways were adequately thick with the greens true but a little thin. Oh well, I burdied the last whole so I'll be back in spite of the preceeding 17 holes!
Fairways were pretty rough. Course needed some TLC. Really showed the effects of the draught over the past year
We had a perfectly fine golf round at The Palms. Course maintenance was OK. The Front 9 is visually uninspiring, the Back 9 somewhat more interesting and scenic. The golf carts have internal combustion engines (rather than electric), which is not ideal. Everything about the course screams just average to me. I don't know what the greens fees are, because I played here one day as part of a four-day package, but my guess is that the greens fees might be lower than some of the other courses in the area, which, if true, would make it a good value. The service was fine but not exceptional. We liked the other three courses we played at better (Conestoga, Falcon Ridge, and Coral Canyon). One complaint I have about this course is that there is hardly any information about it online. Very hard to find a course layout or greens fees.
Not a bad track, pretty ordinary front 9 but back 9 has some character. Equivalent to a nice muni. But the back 9 was so backed up that the round was ruined. The foursome in front of me teed off at 1220 and made the turn at 230. Back 9 took over 2 1/2 hrs. When will courses learn that many golfers are turning away from courses due to pace of play. Can definitely skip during your mesquite trip.
Front nine is well layed out with sand and water in appropriate areas to make it a challenge..the back nine has wonderful elevation and great scenery..worth a trip to this course.
A good golf course, nothing exceptional but was a good value when purchased as a package at the Casablanca. Front side was fairly standard, not a lot of variety, but the back was more interesting with lots of elevation changes.
This course is good for the ego! Front Nine is flat nothing special...take advantage & try to go low! The Back Nine is completely different. Up & Down with a more desert like feel.Service not great...has the feel of a Muni Course.
