A wonderful midday stop in the Manaus heat and humidity thanks to its air conditioning. Also beautiful inside. But the best part may be the active square in front of the church (between it and the Teatro). Simply fabulous - best part of Manaus during the World Cup (many cultural events, met many local residents and tourists, giant street party, etc).
Uma das primeiras igrejas construidas no Amazonas e com uma bela historia contada para a sua construção com peças vindas exclusiva para sua obra. Linda linda linda
Directly opposite Teatro do Amazonas. A wonderful place to sit and contemplate either God, your family or the sights you've just seen. Make it what you will. True it's not the most awe inspiring church you'll see but the abiolity to come out of the heat and cool down is reason enough.
This is a nice little cathedral. I went to the opera house, but it was closed for the holiday, so I walked over to this little cathedral and was pleasantly surprised how lovely it was. I liked the altar with the marble hands. I thought it was rather unique. If you're visiting the opera house, take a few steps and see this church.
We stayed at Hotel Dez de Julho a couple blocks away, so wandered in one day. Nice looking place, especially enjoyed the altar, made of marble in the shape of a pair of upraised hands. Oddly, there's a gift shop that sells T-shirts commemorating their 100th anniversary. Could have done without the bells that rang constantly at odd times, waking us up every morning.
Facing Teatro Amazonas. Popular, small church. Beautiful ceiling frescos and saint statues. Easy to check out when visiting Teatro Amazonas.
luckily I was joined in the moment of mother's day, a lot of people, stately and making pray, I enjoyed the moment there
Beautiful inside! It takes place in the charming Manaus city center, near Teatro Amazonas, restaurants and gelato places.
The church is large, and has several rooms with pulputs inside. There is nothing particular or impressive about this church.
It´s a nice gothic church in the center of the old part of the city, rigtht next to the Amazon Theater. A must go to catholic people
