Worth a visit as it's in the town centre. The sinkhole is surrounded by a manicured lawn and beds of fragrant roses. A must see when you visit the Mount.
Very attractive gardens in the sink hole. Lots of steps down to base then back up again. Easy parking and free activity. Definitely worth a visit.
you can go down to the base - walking....away from the hustle and bustle of life.....serene and green....
Lovely hidden garden with beautiful surrounds. Would love to go back with a picnic basket and blanket. Well maintained gardens.
Certainly worth a visit if you are in Mount Gambier, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. There is some interesting information available on the geology and history of the sinkhole which is an impressive size and nicely set out as a garden.
Loved this place - such a lovely way to fill an hour or so. Lots of steps to walk up and down but very doable. Sadly we were a little late for the hydranges but imagine that it must look amazing when they are all in flower. Couldn't believe that this place is free to visit.
Well worth a visit. Felt like you were in another country. Quite unique to have such a nice garden in a sinkhole and so close to the heart of Moun Gambier. Significantly better than Caves Garden in the centre of town
This sinkhole was made into a fabulous garden in the 1800's.Well worth a quick visit, but be prepared for a considerable climb down the steps ( and , of course the climb back up!!!)
Couldnt ask for anything more natural and lovely than this. Went during the day and enjoyed the sun beaming down into the sinkhole. We then returned at nightfall to see all the possums come out from the cliff wall holes and spent an hour down there with the possums. Awesome.
