Parking, showers & bathrooms are a plus. Large park for kikei to enjoy. Plan on spending the whole day
This beach is a great beach for sunbathing, swimming, snorkelling and so much more. Located in the heart of kihei it is easy to get to by bus or your own car. Walking distance is within many condos and hotels. Clean and clear water. Great place to watch for whales and see the sunset. Good beach for young families with many amenities close by.
So it's not like the places that have chaise lounges, but the water is deliciously warm, the beach clean, the waves wonderful. I was able to do the best boogey boarding with my daughter. Bathroom on site that's better than the ones you get on public beaches in Los Angeles County. Kamaole Beach Park 1, 2, and 3 are similar and all have pretty adequate parking. Snorkeling there was obscured because there was a massive swell around the island that churned up all the water, but on a regular day should be fine.
Great beach for families. great swimming and snorklingEasy to get to. Lifeguard onduty. Large grass area
Between Kam 2 & 3 there is a rock peninsula. I used to snorkel there a couple times a week when I lived there. You can jump off the rocks into the water, which is fun. I've seen tons of sea turtles (between August and December at least) I've seen loads of trigger fish and goat fish, needle fish, and even an octopus. The swimming is good too. Not usually too busy
Small but scenic and very hospitable. Lots of grassy area for those that don't like sand washrooms and lots of parking.
This is the next beach south of Kam II. It was cleaner when we visited but there were many scruffy people hanging around. Not sure I would take kids here when Big Beach is not too far away.
This was a nice little beach that we had read about to do some snorkelling however seemed like a nice beach to swim at and sit on but we eventually found other beaches such as Black Rock (although a lot busier) that had much better snorkelling
Busy beach..enjoyed watching families on boogie boards--lots of small rocks..not much beach lost due to past storms
The sandy beach is below a nice green park with restrooms and accessible via stairs. There was great wave action for playing and body-surfing, but waves were not as strong or threatening as at Makena Park to the south.
