It is indeed a lovely, wide, embayed beach with all necessary facilities and plenty of space. Highly recommended!
Fanastic beach, very clean, white sand and great "spit" at the far side. Close to shops also. Great to surf and well protected.
The beach has been rejuvenated through a council program to pump sand from the river to the beach, and it has made the beach one of the better beaches i have been to on the Sunshine Coast (or the Gold Coast)
I swim all over the world in lakes, pools and mostly in the ocean. This beach can be a bit rippy so the patrolled area is the best bet.The lifesavers do a very good job of keeping the families and bodysurfers separate from the surfcraft. Other than that it is an attractive beach, but not the best on the Sunshine Coast(I like Alexandria Bay best)
Good patrolled beach with plenty of sand for everyone Waves are quite good because the beach is long Just a short walk to the mouth of the Maroochy River
Lovely family beach, waves but not too huge, soft sand and close to the hotels. Will definitely be heading back to Maroochydore soon
This is a great beach for people who like a few waves to body surf in. It is a patrolled beach with an awesome amount of sand to sunbake, play on. For parents it is a great beach as you can see clearly all areas of the beach. There is a surf club for lunches etc or a café across the road. Also there is a public toilet and parking right near the beach.
Looks nice but waves very strong so hard to swim, nothing nearby to walk around the area and no bbq. just surf club there which too expensive
Lovely beach with soft sand and a great view, the beach is so large that there is plenty of room for everyone to share. Plenty of water fountains, toilets and cafes nearby should you need. The current is pretty strong so swimming isn't recommended, but not too bad apart from the odd blue bottle jellyfish which have stings much like bees.
Maroochydore beach is lovely, however if you go around to the mouth of the maroochy river near cotton tree caravan park it is spectacular.
