Just went to a great event at Remy wines for a local artist. As usual the wine was awesome. Remy makes a variety of very good wines and it's nice to see how successful she has gotten.
As basic a tasting room as possible with off-beat charm. The wine is good, the cost for a tasting is reasonable and the tasting room people are knowledgable and open. You can also buy locally brewed beer (the brewery is next door) and good small plates in the tasting room. If you're doing just the wineries in McMinnville, stop here.
Remy Wines has a delicious variety of sensible whites and perfectly tasty reds. Remy (the owner) has gotten creative with her craft and truly has made some of the most deliciously unique wines available in "wine country".
I love the BaR (pronounced R Bar!) and I love Remy's Wine! This winery has an industrial but super friendly atmosphere! Plenty of wines to taste and none of them the usual fare! Italian, Fabulousness! I like a delicious option to the always wonderful Oregon Pinot Noir and Remy Wines has just that! It is a must stop if you are tasting in the McMinnville area! The small plates of snacks were very Italianesque and very tasty! Salumi locally cured, beautiful olive oils, local breads and, of course, parmesan cheese and balsalmic vinegar! Perfect snack and sips!
I positively LOVE everything this woman creates. I've never been disappointed, though certainly I have favorites (Barbera are always a hit). She comes from a family of foodies, so if you have a chance to attend one of her wine/food pairings, don't miss it! You will learn so much about eating--who knew you could be taught that!!
I liked the wine here and it was different that what you get at other wineries in the area. The Barbera was delish. We also got a bread and oil plate to share and it was only $2.00My only complaint was we asked to share because we were wanting to go to several wineries and also save some money. She told us she would give us our on glass but only charge us for 1 tasting. Well, after spending about 30+ minutes here chatting, drinking and eating, she charged us for 2 tastings of $7.00 each for just 3 wines. We decided to just pay and not argue because she was nice and the wine was good, but it was the only winery of 7 we visited that we had issue with the price.
We deliberately sought out Remy's- one of the few area female winemakers, and we wanted a break from Pinot Noir. Remy's did not disappoint, Joel was super helpful and informative. We enjoyed a relaxed, non-pretentious environment and yummy Italian varietals. Remy was there with the crew working hard, since it is harvest season. She was chatty and engaging. The overall experience heightened our enjoyment of her wines.
You have to visit this place - the wines are surprisingly good for the price. Gavin was very informative. A must stop!!!
Best in the Valley. Great people making great wine.
Don't drink much but tried the port and it was lovely. Ended up buying 3 bottles - may give for Christmas gifts ;) Very very good.
