Very good team open and honest and succeeded in giving us a very good experience and very reasonable rates
We booked a two nights safari to tsavo and Amboseli which was awesome, our driver name was nicky and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. He really went the extra mile make sure that we got to see everything including lions. We stayed at kilaguni lodge in tsavo and kibo camp in Amboseli which i really recommend you to request. It was the perfect balance of comfort while maintaining a local feel.We had bonfires and homemade meals and the staff made us feel more like friends that customers.Thank you Michael and your team.
I used FAD a few months back for my safari to Tsavo and Amboseli parks. I stayed at Ashnil Aruba in Tsavo East, Ngulia in Tsavo West and Kibo camp in Amboseli on a 3 night and 4 day trip.I met Mike in resort and checked the brochures to detail my tour. We agreed on a price and that was it, very straight forward and easy. My accomodation was spot on and the drives were excellent with plenty of wildlife seen. I would use or recommend FAD for anyone looking for a safari whilst in Kenya.
This is our first vacation in Kenya from 18.08 to 28.08.2014 y . To know the country we booked the tour "Kenya classic safari in 9 days " of Nairobi, by jeep and standard accommodation for 2 people . Many thanks First African Dream Safaris and Mike Musyoka personally for the excellent organization and attention to safari us. We visited the Masai Mara game reserve, Lake Nakuru national park , Lake Naivasha , Amboseli National Park , Tsavo West and Tsavo East National Parks . On the way to the hotels where we stayed - excellent service and food, very attentive staff and security. Especially worth mentioning Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort. There we had the opportunity to admire the giraffes that roamed the site and feeds on the leaves of acacia trees . A night came hippos , and the terrace could watch them " mow " the lawn in the park area . The last day of the safari , upon request to our program , we toured the canyon " Hell's Kitchen ." Special thanks and a huge hello to our guide and driver Kamau. During the first three days he showed us safari big five . In the Masai Mara , he first of the guides found a leopard. Kamau - great professional , master of his craft and a man with a great sense of humor. All the way he was very attentive to us , it was a nice and easy to communicate. On arrival at the hotel Temple Point, Kamau left us only when convinced that we checked in and we are doing well , and Mike was interested in how we doing on the phone.Best wishes .jonson jacek .
As others have already said in their reviews, Mike Musyoka was very efficient with e-mail replies offering his various safaris. We were unable to organise a deposit by bank transfer in time before leaving Scotland for Kenya but this was not a problem. Mike came to our hotel and discussed our requirements and we paid the whole cost of the safari then. We took a 4 day safari to Tsavo East, Amboseli and Tsavo West and it was no problem changing from the original booking for Tsavo East and West only. We paid a reasonable price for a very experienced driver called Salim to take us on our once in a lifetime safari where we had the van totally to ourselves. We saw, and took photos of, over 2,000 animals and birds of over 200 different species. Salim was very patient as my partner is a keen photographer and took over 2,000 photos! He pointed out lots of animals we hadn't even noticed and was able to name them for us. We are both really glad that we chose First African Dream Safaris and if we were ever fortunate enough to be able to take a safari again in the future we would contact Mike to see if we could visit the Masai Mara next time. Incidently. Salim arranged a visit to a local Masai village for us as he knew the chief's son. That was a real eyeopener! As a final note, the chosen accommodation at each park was excellent too and all very different and the 'tented' accommodation had the best shower and a spectacular view of Kilimanjiro at 6 am!
I'll never forget my trip to Kenya..It's hard to use words to describe how great it is, expecially for whom used to stay in the cities. My friend and I had a 8 days safari trip and spent 10 day in Kenya in total. We visited the Aberdare-Samburu-Sweetwater-Nakuru-(Navasha)Masai Mara. Can you believe that we had already seen big five before we arrived Masai Mara?! Samburu, Sweetwater and Masai Mara are my favorates.Samburu is a must go, though it's really hot and dusty on the roa..but you will be surprised by what you see over there. Sweetwater is a bonus, a peaceful nice place and I wish I could stay longer. Navasha is like a stopover between Nakuru and Masai Mara, a small but nice place, worth to go and don't miss the walking safari over there. It's very nice, you can be closed to the animals. Also I think it may be a better idea to stay in the hotels in Navasha instead of Lake Nakuru Lodge( the facilities getting quite old).In Masai Mara ,we paid a bit more to upgrade to the Keekorok hotel, which located in the central area of the park. It's a right decision to do that, we went out for a morning game drive and came back for a rest before the afternoon game drive, instead of a whole day game driving under the sun.If you are going to stay in the central area, you can think about to do it this way as well. Since I didn't see too many animals by noon. But I don't suggest to do the walking safari along the mara river..well..it's nice to see something, but I don't like the way the guide (not our tour guide, but the solier or park officer?) "ask" for more tips~~ that's the only moment I felt fustrated and unhappy during the whole trip. I felt like it's a rip off :-( If i knew it would be that way, I wouldn't go for sure. (don't get me wrong, I did tip the restaurant waiters, waitress and room housekeepers all the time..but just don't like the way he did)After all I will recommend this safari tours, affordable price, nice accomodation, very helpful guys(expecially Michael), responsible..etc.
We arrived for our 2 week stay at the all inclusive Voyager Hotel, Mumbasa.Very good Hotel, entertaiment & food first class. We had not pre-booked our safari but we were interested in visiting the Masai Mara, Mike contacted us from the beach as they are not permitted on the hotel grounds. We were very hesitant wether to do business with him but he assured us that everything would be in order and not to worry, but he would required cash which we would have to be withdraw from the local Barclays bank, their computers were down so all moneys had to be taken from the cash machines debit / credit. I have to be honest we did have some reservations about paying anything.Mike organised the flights from Mombasa airport to a designated airstrip, and also the Fig Tree Lodge for two nights. On our first trip out we did not many animals. Day two we had a masa mari guide " what a difference ( reccomended ) we seen plenty of wild life all except the Rhino which are very rare.We had breakfast in the bush which is amazing !.All in all we had a superb time. The Fig Tree Lodge, is highly reccomended. on our return flight back,Mike was waiting to take us back to the hotel. It has to be said these guys cut out the middle men so can do it much cheaper !I have read all the reviews reference Mike's past efforts, but I think he has learnt by his mistakes. Mike made every effort to ensure we were look after, ( A great guy )
I had to pick December 2012 as July was not applicable in your dates. My friends and I went on an African Safari in Kenya for 10 days. We were so very fortunate to see the Big Five. We travelled in July 2012.The weather was great and we booked this with Browns Tours in Sri Lanka and flew from Sri Lanka. The costing was cheap due to the strong Aussie Dollar. We had a very good guide who went out of his way to show us as much as possible, he truly was an A1 guide. The lodgings, with the exception of the David Livingstone Lodge was good. The food was good and we couldn't ask for more. We really enjoyed seeing the animals so so many and the birds, the wild life was terrific.I would encourage anyone to make a Safari - its out of the world. Along with another friend we took the balloon ride - the view was terrific.
We were really excited to go on safari. First we've booked our flights and then we were looking for a customised safari. First we've contacted some travel agencies in Germany, but it became clear that it would be very expensive. Then we checked Tripadvisor and read about First African Dream safaris. We were direct in contact with Mike and he didn't mind to answer all our questions. We took the risk of booking with First African Dream safaris. My family, and I as well, were a bit anxious. We needed to pay 40% of the safari in advance. When we arrived in Nairobi, we were very pleased to meet our Guide, Charles. The trip was very well planned, and our guide was really MARVELOUS :-)Charles is a good and safe driver, knows a lot of the region and animals and is humouristic. The guide makes or destroys such kind of trip, so we were very happy with Charles. We also had a comfortable Safari Jeep, which in our opinion is better than a minivan. Also the accomodations were very good and charming. So nothing but positive feedback regarding our trip.Visited june 2014
Hi, we are Alan and Ellen from Kent , After reading TripAdvisor reviews finally we took our dream vacation, a Photographic Safari in Kenya, we contacted fad ( mike ) who was very friendly and helpful. We studied weather, the migrations and planned every step and detail. We booked for September 2013, a 11 days Safari tour in Kenya, to Tsavo East and West, Amboseli, Naivasha, Nakuru, Bogoria and Massai Mara Areas. We needed a Tour guide with basic knowledge of Photography and we were very lucky to meet Charles ( mutinda musyoki) our tour guide., He is a nice person, punctual, serviceable, good humored and clever, because I told him how to get the best Photos ( light, angle, stop the engine, sun position etc. ) and immediately found for us the best angle., Our van was impeccable, he was always supportive with our questions, with the right answers in different topics ( ecology, political, animals and plants names ). He is open to learn the information we gave him regarding different issues. We are recommending Charles MusyokI with friends who want to go and visit this beautiful land, our relatives JOHN and CHRITINE our travel mates highly recommended him too, We have Charle's help, to run a program for control littering in the Parks. We are keeping in touch with him on several issues concerning Africa, birds and Ecology, best regards Alan and Elen.Visited September 2013
