We have spent amazing 2 weeks in Kenya, part safari and part on beach holidays. I was a bit worried at first as organizing a trip was mostly done over the email with Shadrack, but we had the most exciting experience of our lifetime. Our driver Evans was very helpful and we could not ask fora better guide.Everything was flowlessly organized, we saw a lots of animals, lodges we stayed in were comfortable and the beach resort was.. well beautiful 5* beach resort as promised:-)
My wife and I have just returned from our holiday with Glorious Safari's, and we are already looking to return to Africa as soon as possible. Our holiday included many of the major parks, and our tour operator Shauri was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. As we were organizing our trip, Jacky answered any questions and concerns we had and offered an itinerary that perfectly suited our travel needs. The only difficulty we encountered was having to pay for meals at the tail end of the trip. We were under the impression that everything was included, but the last days had costs we were unaware of.Glorious Safari's is a fantastic company and provided us with a dream holiday. I highly suggest booking your Kenyan safari with them!
My family of 5 (3 boys aged 8, 11, 12) just returned yesterday from a 6 week adventure which included 2 weeks with Glorious Safaris in Kenya and Tanzania. Right from the start all correspondence from Shadrack was prompt and professional and any changes we made along the way were no problem. Jackie (Shadrack's right hand woman) drove from Mombasa to Tsavo East (our 1st destination) to go through our itinerary with us and make sure we were happy with everything. Our tour guide in Kenya - Eustus and John in Tanzania were brilliant - our boys just loved them and were very sad to say goodbye. The vehicles were in great condition and very comfortable with easy game viewing. I would recommend having a slightly larger vehicle than needed with kids. We had a few spare seats in Kenya which was great for long drives between parks if one of the kids got tired and grumpy and need some space to themselves. In Tanzania we didn't have any spare seats and things got a bit tense at the end of the day. Again we hadn't requested a larger vehicle but just got lucky with one in Kenya. All the lodges we stayed in were fantastic with great food. I particularly loved Kilaguni Serena at Tsavo West for its amazing views. My 4th trip to Kenya and 1st time to Tsavo East and West and can't believe I hadn't been there before. In the Serengeti we stayed at Kati Kati Camp which was a favourite with the boys and the food there was amazing. So sad tourism is down as we felt perfectly safe and very well looked after. We did choose not to stay in Nairobi itself (although I love the city) with the boys and instead stayed at Swara Plains Camp 40 km outside the city which was a great place to stay with some of the best food or our trip. Hope tourism picks up for this wonderful region of the world. My boys are talking about how they are definitely coming back when they leave school!
Glorious Safaris have been absolutely fantastic for us. From start to finish they have been honest, professional, accommodating, friendly & reliable. We had originally always booked our safaris through a UK tour operator who would use a major safari operator in Kenya. This time around we didn’t want to be limited and wanted a tailor-made safari. After reading trip advisor reviews, we took the plunge and now for us Glorious Safaris is the only tour operator in Kenya. We originally made contact with Glorious back in 2013. We started by requesting a quote from Shadrack for the parks & accommodation we wanted, to which he came back with a detailed itinerary. After a few tweaks and many questions we confirmed the booking in January 2014. Shadrack was always very helpful and very patient with the countless emails that were sent his way.We paid a deposit of 30% upon booking and a further 20% in September to a UK bank account and swiftly received a receipt for the transaction. We then settled the remaining balance with Shadrack upon arrival in Nairobi. Our safari ran for 14 days from 30/10/14 to 13/11/14. We were met & welcomed at Nairobi International Airport by Shadrack & our guide and spent 2 nights in Nairobi, 3 nights in Samburu, 3 nights Ol Pejeta, 3 nights Naivasha & 3 nights in the Masai Mara. We had Shauri allocated as our driver/guide and we are proud to say he is now considered part of our extended family.Shauri is a fantastic driver & guide. He is extremely knowledgeable about the parks and wildlife. He went above & beyond for us and his hard work paid off because we were able to see the big 5 and more including a lion kill which was amazing. He would always stop when asked and would always wait for our go ahead before moving off again.I would strongly urge anyone wanting to holiday/safari in Kenya to book flights directly and then go to Glorious to book the beach hotel / safari. Asante tutaonana siku moja Glorious Safaris
I'm very impressed with Glorious Safaris despite the fact that I haven't even travelled with them. Our Thomson holiday was cancelled due to the current security concerns which meant that our GS safari had to be cancelled too. When I contacted Shadrack at GS, he immediately offered to refund the deposit (some other safari companies haven't, apparently) and alternatively offered a discount if I chose to carry the booking over to next year. They had dealt with my many safari queries politely and efficiently throughout and came up with a great package at a very good price. If and when the security situation returns to normal, GS will be hearing from me.Please ignore the date of our visit which Tripadvisor insists on being filled in.
We have just returned from a 4 day safari with Glorious Safaris. We went to Tsavo East, Amboseli and Tsavo West. The whole process from start to finish was very easy and it helped having someone in England before we travelled to call for advice. Our driver went out of his way to make sure we had a wonderful time and was extremely knowledgable, courteous and kind. If you want to get the best out of your safari, you could not go wrong with Glorious Safaris. A big thank you goes to Bashir (our driver), who made our safari such a memorable trip.
Took advantage of the reduced airway fares with Kenya Airways for a 12 day visit back to Kenya. We found NO SECURITY PROBLEMS and felt safe at all times. Couldn't go back to Kenya without going on safari so we chose a short 2 days 1 night at Ngutuni. Evans was our driver and what a wonderful time he gave us trying so hard to find the " cats " for us.As usual everything went well with the booking and arrangements ( Thank you Shadrack). We use Glorious for all our travel requirements whilst in Mombasa .Picked up and dropped off at the airport and visit to a school we help.GS will always take you to Mwokoeni school ( they are desperate for support) and Heart children's home.We were always safe. (Thank you John such a gentleman).Safari was great over 800 water buffalo at the camps water hole and elephants everywhere - cats on holiday .We can't wait until June when we go back again and yes we will be using Glorious Safari again (booked last year). Please don't be put off going to Mombasa due to the Government's warning people out there and those who have been on holiday can not understand it.See you in June PLEASE GO AND SUPPORT THEM.
Fun. Professional. Accommodating. Safe. Spectacular. They went out of their way to help us spot a lion.
From start to finish Glorious Safaris looked after us, we were picked up from the airport and met by Shadrack who explained everything we needed to know. Our holiday started in Nairobi, visiting the Elephant Orphanage, which is a must, it is only open from 11-12noon then on to Lake Nukuru. Evans was our driver guide for the first leg of our safari he was very courteous and easy to be with, he could spot animals a mile off!! Maybe a slight exaggeration but these guides are brilliant at spotting. We visited Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Treetops then were delivered to the airport for a flight to Mombassa and 5 nights at Diani Beach Resort where Glorious Safaris had booked us into The Baobab - it was fabulous. They arranged our transfer from the airport to hotel and again picked us up from there for the second leg of our safari. We visited Tsavo East, Tsavo West and Amboseli. Bashir was our driver, he was very knowledgeable and interested in trees and birds as well as animals. We wanted to change our last day itinerary, Glorious Safaris did this for us, we did not realise until later that it had caused quite a few problems for them! I would thoroughly recommend this company and would happily book with them again if we were to return to Kenya.
We booked a three days trip for Tsavo East and West. Shadrack and Jacky couldn't have been more helpful when choosing the destinations and the accommodation and was also very patient when we had numerous questions to ask. Our driver Evans was better than we could hope for. He managed to spot animals that we couldn't even see with binoculars. I would definitely recommend Glorious Safaris. I can understand why they get such brilliant TripAdvisor ratings
