very good safari very serious travel agencythank you steeve and nathan our driver best regards nathalie rodriguez
This is the second time we go on safari with this local agency 'Steve&Richard', and once again we are very happy. They are the best and cheapest in the region and what is agreed is delivered. We spent 3 days in the Masaï Mara with 2 nights at the Sopa Lodge (as recommended by Steve). The lodge was very nice, see the reviews on TripAdvisor. To get to the Masaï Mara Steve had organized a flight from Mombasa with a small 9 seats Cessna. We had asked a 4x4 jeep and got a nice and recent Landcruiser. Our guide was friendly and competent. Overall, we give 5 stars to Steve&Richard because they are very reliable, everything was well organised, on time and no bad surprise, price is all included, except drinks at the lodge. We will go back with them.
We booked a 4-day, 3-night safari from Mombasa (Tsavo West, Amboseli, Tsavo East) with Steve and Richard. We did not book very far in advance and still everything was organised quite smoothly. We had a van just for the two of us. We one guide for the whole trip, Nathan, who had a good answer to all questions (posed lots of them) that we could think of. We really felt he studied hard to know all the details of the multitude of species we spotted. On top of that he was very punctual, which is, in our experience, not the standard in Kenya.Lodges were great with good food too and we saw loads of animals on our trip. We were lucky enough to spot four out of the big five on the first day already. Regrettably we did not spot any Rhinos on our trip but furthermore everything was perfect!
Steve is running the coast branche of steve&richards. He's very punctual, friendly trustworthy.Used him several times for Safari to TSAVO for my guests.ALways explains everything. Picks up and drops off in time. (thats a rare quality in Kenya)
We really had a great 4 day, 3 night safari Tsavo West – Amboseli – Tsavo East with Steve and Richard Safaris. Everything was well organised. Steve gave us an excellent service from the booking until the end of safari. We had wonderful guide and driver Joseph, who was very polite, friendly and professional. He knows all about the animals, birds and roads in savannah. He always wanted to do best for us. Absolutely lovely man! Our lodges were great. We stayed at Ngulia Lodge in Tsavo West, at Sentrim Amboseli and at Lion Hill Lodge in Tsavo East. The food was good, rooms were clean and cozy and the service of the staff was excellent. We paid a little extra for a private van which was good as we got more space and could decide on details. Our car was good and clean. We saw very many animals though there was a lot of green bush and high grass in the end of December. The highlight of the safari for us was seeing over 200 elephants coming towards us together in a row and finally surrounding us. It was a very absurd and expressive feeling!A truly memorable and enjoyable experience. Thanks Steve & Joseph for a great holiday!
My girlfriend and I booked up with Steve & Rich Safari's after hearing plenty of great reviews. The whole process from enquiring about the safari through to the end of our holiday was made really easy by Steve, all of our questions were answered thoroughly and he organised everything from the transfers to the lodges. We booked up for a 4 day safari in Tsavo East & West, staying at three separate lodges including Salt lick Lodge which was stunning! Our guide for safari was called Jackson and he was fantastic, he was so knowledgeable about the area & the wildlife. We paid a bit extra for our own vehicle which was great as we could decide on how long we stopped at each place. Our favourite aspects of the trip was staying at the lodges where you could sit and have a drink at the bar and have herds of elephant, buffalo, zebra etc. drinking from waterholes only yards away from you.If we are lucky enough to come on safari again we would choose to spend the whole of our holiday on safari. We enjoyed the experience of the lodges more than we enjoyed staying at our Mombasa beach resort, therefore we would prefer to arrange for airport pickup & drop-off and spend the duration of our holiday on safari and at the lodges.
Booked the 4 day 3 night Safari (Tsavo East, West and Amboselli) trough the internet.Didn't regret it for a minute. Excellent service. Lodges were fantastic. The guide they arranged for us was wonderfull. Great experience!
We had a realy good safari in Amboseli Park. Some gamedrives and many animals. It was a long road from Nairobi but it's worth it!We also had a good hotel in Amboseli that ''Steve & Richard Day Tours & Safaris'' reserved for us. Early in the morning we waked up with monkeys outside the window. It was funny.
I started planning our Kenya safari about 10 months in advance by emailing nine safari/tour companies with a brief outline of our ideas, and asking for suggestions for an itinerary and prices. After much deliberation, and lots of emails, we decided to book with Steve & Richard Safaris. We do not regret our decision. We booked flights into Nairobi, and the arrangement was that we would meet Steve the morning after arrival, agree the itinerary, pay for our trip and then start our safari. The itinerary/price that we agreed was for a 6 night 7 day safari starting in Nairobi and ending at our beach hotel in Mombasa. The price included all travel and game drives, park fees, accommodation, all meals, water and everything except drinks in the lodges.Everything went as planned and we had an amazing safari with Nathan our driver/guide.Day 1 we drove from Nairobi to the Masai Mara - a 5 hour drive, arriving for lunch and an evening game drive. Here we saw lions, zebra, cheetah, elephants, giraffe etc.Day 2, a full day in the Masai Mara, where we saw the migration of the wildebeest.Day 3 to Lake Nakuru, to see the white rhino and the fabulous lake. Day 4, Amboseli. Day 5 Tsavo West. Day 6 Tsavo East.Day 7: a final game drive and then off to our hotel at the beach in Mombasa.Nathan was an incredible driver/guide. He was able to negotiate the rough roads and still spot wildlife in the bush. He was very knowledgeable about all the animals and birds, and was exemplary in every way.I could not praise him highly enough. All of our lodges:- Sentrim Mara, Lake Nakuru Lodge, Sentrim Amboseli, Ngulia Lodge, Voi Lion Hill Lodge were of a very high standard. (see my separate reviews). This safari trip with Steve and Richard Tours exceeded all of our expectations. The whole trip was amazing: the trip of a lifetime.
Steve organized a very successful trip to the Masai Mara from Mombasa in Sept 2013. Driven to the airport and flown to the Masai Mara with AeroNav (very professional). Jeremiah was our guide on arrival and did a very good job of showing us all the big game over the 3 days. This was the time of the 'Migration' so there were thousands of animals. Watching the wildebeest dithering overing crossing the rivers was fascinating. Mating lions, crocs awaiting any false steps, cheetahs eating their prey, leopards hiding, hippos galore, they were all there. The Olumara Camp was brilliant, separate rating on tripadvisor. All-in-all a very good trip which I hereby recommend.
