Jay Tram Summertime ride that is a nice way to spend a couple of hours. The tram goes about every 1/2 hour. We packed a lunch and enjoyed the mountaintop views, which in a clear day .... You can see forever. Remember windy days they may close down .The tram was dog and kid friendly; offers you as much time as you wish to traverse the top rocks, or hike back down the mountain. They offer a senior discount . In addition the store at the base has sandwiches, beverages available to take with if you like.
Reasonably priced tram visit to the top. A view that is just breathtaking on a clear day! We were able to all the way to Montreal.
The ride to the top of the mountain at Jay Peak was stunning. However the young people who sold the tickets and ran the ride were not particularly welcoming.
On a clear day the 360 degree view includes Mt. Mansfield to the south, Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks to the west, Mt. Washington and the White Mts.to the east and the Laurentian's to the north.Go up and have a picnic.
Have not been on the tram for years. Miss the old mountain. Seemed like we were in another state and not Vermont. Very pricey for the local people. They should give the local residents a deal.
Family trip with the dogs up to the top of the mountain for our hike down. Pet-friendly during off season. About an hour hike back down the mountain with the dogs. Great way to experience and enjoy the Fall colors.
Wish we'd known that the Tram is Dog-Friendly in the off-season - we wouldn't have left our pooch behind at the Inn. A really beautiful ride and view!
This place is located in Montgomery, Vermont. However, the map & surrounding hotels that trip advisor has attached to this place are all for Montgomery, Alabama! I know this because I live in Montgomery Alabama & I recognized the map-- street names----- hotels---etc. right away. Also, evertime I bring up my trip advisor app on my phone, it has this place listed as one of my "nearby places". WRONG!
i went back to ride the tram to the top-- the last time being over 45 years ago when my dad took me skiing there....the view was great--with the trees showing their colors far belowand for only $10 a person--not bad at all
Took the tram to the top on a somewhat overcast day. It wasn't that crowded which was great. The ride up is slow and steady and gives you a chance to take in the view and take pictures if you want to. Once to the top you can get out and enjoy a drink and a snack at the small café or walk around and take in the view up close. It was somewhat windy the day I was there but the views are breathtaking and you just can't find words to describe. You can stay up as long as you want and just catch the next tram down to the bottom when you are ready. Overall worth the ride for the view. The resort gives out coupons for a free ride when you stay at one of the hotels.
