Beautiful, pared down, so elegant and bright. After you've admired your surroundings, walk around the gorgeous main altar and in the back see the small chapel dedicated to Mary, patron saint of the cathedral, a pretty unpretentious wooden sculpture behind the altar. Walking distance from the Vieux Port.
You will be impressed by the sculptures on the top front of the Cathedral and the elegantly painted ceilings and wall. A large Cathedral with regular mass and prayer services, there is also a Christian store, though not as big as the one of the Oratory of St Joseph, prices are more affordable. NOTE: Marie-Reine du Monde means Mary Queen of the World.
Old architecture, very big and colorful. Amazingly beautiful. History that speaks for itself. Cathedral made as St. Peter cathedral in Rome.
The Mary Queen of the World cathedral was stunning, even on a frigid December day. It would be great if there was a little more information about the church from a visitors point of view.
Interesting to see especially if you've been to the original St Paul's in Rome. A nice quiet place to eat if you've been waking the city.
I saw an angel! Just kidding! This is a beautiful cathedral that is a replice of St-Peters basilica in Rome! I was talking about an angel, but actually you can even find God in there, in the Tabernacle. Enjoy your visit!
Beautiful large church, the sound was great, the priest had a fantastic singing voice, couldn't look around much.
This cathedral is beautiful. We happened upon it accidentally. We stopped in to get out of the rain. There was no admission fee. There is a small shop inside. I wish we could have been there for Sunday mass. Definitely worth a visit!
Yes, visit Notra Dame, but don't exclude this church from your visit. You will be blessed by the artwork and the Bernini Baldachin. You might say, "Am I in St. Peter's?" Beautifully framed at the back of the cathedral is the statue of Mary, Queen of the World. With wonders to behold in this church, don't forget to look up and behind.
If you are into old churches, this is a must look see. The 19th century church, has been kept in wonderful shape, and the outside statues cap off a great domed roof.
