We went on this River Trip with some friends. It was fantastic. Extremely well organized with knowledgable tour guides. Couldn't ask for a more positive experience. We got to see some wildlife on the trip down the river including a black bear a dear and a blue herring on the river bank. I have some pictures. Only took the picture of the bear after we floated by. Fantastic.
We took an afternoon trip during spring break.I was a little hesitant (chicken) to go rafting, but Ferron provided a fun and safe trip. We traveled with 2 teenage boys and Ferron suggested they try the inflatable kayaks for a little more excitement.Great idea! The boys had so much fun, even experiencing a tumble into the river at one point. But we never worried for their safety. Ferron knows that river like the back of his hand, and his stories were very engaging. Thanks for a lovely time, Ferron and Sue. I'm sure we will be back again.
"No problema" say Ferron and Sue. We can do that! Between Sue's smile, Ferron's stories, and the spectacular scenery you could easily fall in love with this place. Sue, Ferron and the rest of the crew have been on the Wild and Scenic Rogue for years and know the ins and outs, ebbs and flows of both the river and surrounding area. Want to take your dog (s) on the river with you? "No problema"! Want to stay in a treehouse? "No problema"! Can't miss with these guys... best in OR!
Ferron, Sue and the crew are some of the best guides on the Rogue! They are so professional without losing the fun, imaginative, creative aspect of being on the river. Their home is the base for the company, meaning their house and the river. True river warriors. Some of the most interesting people on the water. If you're debating what company to go with, definitely go with Ferron. Disappointment won't even cross your mind.
Just got back from a great trip down the Rogue with Ferron's from Galice to Graves Creek. It was a blast of a day. We had a group of 20. Ferron's provided a great guide. He handled the size of the group with aplomb and kept it interesting for adults and the 7 children. No problems whatsoever for families. Take your time along the river. We stopped for lunch and swimming and diving. Saw all sorts of wildlife including osprey, mergansers, and even a black bear cooling down on the shore too. Everyone had a great time. Ask for Wayd as your guide.
Ferron's is a mom and pop business and we chose to support them. It was a choice worth making! We had Wade as our guide and he was friendly and had a good sense of humor. The kayaking was really fun. My mom and I were going down argon in the kayak and she fell out and came up laughing! They provided sodas and water. We had a lot of fun!
We had a family gathering of 8 with 1 child under 6. We floated with Ferron what a pleasure it was. He is very knowledgable about the river and of course a great guide. We felt safe and knew that if anything would happen we would be in good hands. The kayaks were a blast most everyone had a turn in either a single or double. They have this down to a science. From first contact to completion of the trip it was easy and everything their website said it would be. Thanks Ferron and Sue!!!!
We took a beautiful trip down the river with this company. We felt safe and had a great time. Highly recommended!
This was my two teenagers first time kayaking on whitewater and they had an awesome time! Shawn was great both as a guide sharing knowledge of the area and having fun with the kids by teaching them the proper way to water fight using their paddles, (I think he won their waterfights). I really appreciated his concern for their safety by ensuring they understood how to manage their kayaks through white water and by staying close and down river from them so that if they did have a mishap he was ready to take care of them. Was a beautiful day with some great sights. Lunch was wholesome with some nice fresh vegetables and homemade cookies and salsa. I would highly recomend Ferron's team if you want a fun experience on the Rogue River.
My daughter (10) and I recently booked a half day trip with Ferron's crew to float down the Rogue River to Galice from the Hog Creek boat landing to Galice. With only 24 hours notice, Ferron put the trip together and assigned Wayd to guide the trip. Offered a two person inflatable kayak to go along with the larger raft, I decided to introduce my daughter to rafting in that way. Wayd was great at pointing out the wildlife on the river (blue herons, ravens, turkey buzzards, osprey, eagle, turtles, beaver dams, etc) as well as talking about the natural history and hydraulics of Hellgate Canyon. This is the gentle stretch of the river, with rapids that provide enough thrills to keep a newbie's interest without inducing terror. A great way to start a beginner on the river. Can't wait to go back and tackle the more challenging lower Rogue, or at least to let one of Ferron's crew tackle it!
