Imagine being in one of the most beautiful and remote places in the US on a digital detox with wine! We had the most amazing time hiking each day and having wine with lunch and dinner. Having Liz, a wine expert on the trip with us was such a bonus, she was so knowledgable it was unbelievable. Abbie and Cory were so so great, they prepared amazing meals and made sure we had everything we needed along the way.We did the raft assisted wiking trip for four days and I highly recommend it. I went with my mom, sister and girlfriend. There were 12 in the group total which was a good size. Only having a day bag allowed us to carry water, some clothes and a few snacks. The terrain wasn't difficult but we stopped often to take in the views, it was nice to hike at your own pace and not one large group. Everyone arrived in there own time and there was plenty of food and wine to go around. If you are looking for a vacation where you get to hike, raft, stay at amazing lodges, shower, drink wine, meet some awesome people and get away from it all, this is it. I had such an amazing time...My only regret is we didn't book a longer trip :)
Rogue Wilderness provided an amazing experience for my family. Honestly, I was hesitant with having three young girls, ages 11, 8, and 6. Once we boarded our raft, I quickly realized that Joey, our boater, was not only confident and experienced, but that he was in complete control of the boat. He gave us an incredible experience of adventure by navigating us through amazing rapids, pointing out beautiful wildlife, commenting on the scenery, and providing historical information in regards to the surrounding area as well.
Our trip on the river was courtesy of the regional economic development organization, SOREDI. Our group was comprised of people who help companies make decisions and we were on a "fam" (familiarization) tour of the region to learn more about the business assets and the other amenities of the region. we are invited lots of places and experience many fun things--but the trip down the river with Rogue Wilderness was one of the best experiences I have had on one of these tours. We had a great guide/boatman, Scott aka "Bama." The evening was beautiful with a warm day leading into a nice evening ride. This included a great view of a rising full moon above the mountains. Scott clearly loves the outdoor life and told us great stories of river experiences, hiking activities, and some of his travels as a dive master. Time passed way to quickly.About halfway through the trip we were treated to what was incorrectly called "heavy hors d'oeuvres." It really was a meal with everything from meats and cheese, to fruits and on to an array of deserts--and it was all delicious. Scott did a great job telling us about the river, pointing out interesting sites and directing us to places to see deer, osprey and other wildlife. it was an amazing ending to our trip--and although the trip was about 4 hours and we couldn't go on because it was getting dark, it was over way too soon. let me also complement all of the staff including the owner, everyone was, while every professional, also very personable and friendly.I loved the trip and think it would be great to go back with my family to do an expanded experience on the Rouge with Rogue Wilderness.
My husband and I took the four day raft assisted hike of the Rogue River with Rogue Wilderness Adventures. I hope to be able to return every year!! RWA is perfectly managed...the guide was completely capable, knowledgeable and fun. The hike and the accommodations were exactly as portrayed in all information that we received. Cannot wait to go again!!
Great 4 day hike with option of riding raft whenever. Daypacks only as raft takes gear to a series of neat, rustic, comfortable lodges. Lunches provided riverside and breakfast and dinner at lodges. Great rafting guide(Corey). Excellent instruction regarding trip.Beautiful well marked trail. Spectacular scenery. We went in September and the weather was perfect. Just do it!
My family and I recently took a 1-day raft trip down the Rogue River with Rogue Wilderness Adventures and it was a real treat. Of course the scenery was spectacular but also the expert guide informed us about everything we were viewing. He was an avid outdoorsman and had a great sense of humor. The lunch that we were served was delicious and more than generous. I would use this group again in a minute.
We were a group of 11 women aged 40 - 76 who did the 4 day supported hike. Our guides, Taylor and Ale, did a super job of explaining each part of the hike and preparing delicious lunches. The trip was adventurous and thoroughly enjoyable! I highly recommend it!!
I am from the same group of 11 women 40-76 years who cannot say enough good things about this 4 day supported hike. Our guides were so professional and took wonderful care to make sure we took it all in. The lodges were comfortable and food plentiful and delicious. My recommendation--Get Out and enjoy it all.
Great river experience for all of us: the timid, the adventurer, the naturalist, & the artist! The evening river float was just perfect; it included breathtaking views, wildlife sightings of otter, deer, & birds, adventure in the rapids, plus an alfresco dinner and wine. Our guide, Joey, was a wealth of information as well as an expert at rowing the boat! Let's do it again!
What a great vacation! Everyone was friendly, professional and super organized. We all felt we could go at our own pace rafting or hiking as much as we liked. The guides were knowledgeable, fun and great cooks. I think everyone should do this trip ar least once!
