I arranged a group tour with Wine Hopper as an add-on day to a conference in Ashland. Comfortable Mercedes van picked us up at our hotel, giving each of us a Wine Hopper water bottle (with ice water to refill when needed). I live in the area but found out nuggets of history and interesting area details that I wasn't aware of from our driver/guide Paul. Three wineries, all tastings included. Hors d'oevres (ok, I can't spell!) served after the first winery tastings, lunch served after the second, and a DIVINE homemade dessert after the third. We were able to watch freshly harvested grapes being loaded into a juicer, toured through a barrel room, and a visit/commentary into the vineyard itself. We were able to purchase wine at the wine club rates. Wonderful views. A lovely, relaxing day.
Meagan, thank you for sharing your experience. I'm so sorry you were disappointed. As you can tell from our other reviews people really enjoy their experience on our tours. As the owner I want to make sure everyone has an exceptional tour. Somehow we failed to meet your expectation. Please except my apologies and let me offer you a money back guarantee. Also, if you could share more about your experience I'd appreciate it. I need to find out more information on why your tour didn't include a barrel room visit or vineyards. Who was your guide, what day did you go? Please contact me directly at 541-476-8463 so I can issue you a refund and find out more information so this doesn't happen again. Thank you,Brad Niva- Owner
I bought one of the tour packages for my girlfriend and myself for her birthday this past weekend and had an AMAZING time! We were lucky in that it was just us for the tour so it was like having our own private driver! And our driver, Phil, was simply the best! Very personable, he gave us a brief history of all the wineries we went to as well as history of the towns we drove through. The wineries themselves were amazing, the views were breathtaking and the wine flowed like water. And it wasnt just the wine tasting. We were able to pick grapes off the vine, see where the wine was made and Phil fixed us up some snacks and lunch. HIGHLY recommended. Cant say enough great things about the entire experience.
We took this tour a few days before the Labor Day weekend - there were only 4 of us on the tour - which was nice because it was very hot and a full van may not have been so comfortable. Our guide was wonderful - he was a very safe driver, knew the history of the valley, knew about the wines, and had a sense of humor. It was a beautiful drive, we tasted some delightful wines (even bought some); snacks & a light lunch were provided along the way - it was a perfect introduction to Oregon wines - Gail& Joe
I contracted with Wine Hopper Tours for my daughter's wedding to shuttle family and friends from Ashland to the wedding venue; about a 30 minute ride. All my guests loved the shuttle ride and said the driver was nice, friendly and competent. I highly recommend Wine Hopper Tours for their excellent service and communication when planning the detailed logistics. A satisfied customer
We did a tour of 3 wineries with Wine Hopper Tours. It was amazing! Our driver, Paul, was FANTASTIC!!!! If you go, request him! He knows his stuff, and narrated an awesome tour! The wineries were great as well! Definitely worth the money! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! Food was included in the trip, and it was PERFECTION! Beautiful Scenery, Great Food, Even Better Wine, and Even Better People!
First tour was great with friends celebrating a birthday last October. This time it was a van full of family reunion kids and grandkids from all over getting together to celebrate their dad's 80th. Everyone had a ball. The winery staffs were pleasant and your personnel were outstanding. Looking forward to another reason to do it again.
13 fun vibrant ladies enjoyed a wonderful Saturday afternoon in the Applegate wine country with Scott as our host/driver. Scott arrived at 10:15am in front of the Jacksonville Inn to begin our day. We enjoyed a lovely drive to the Applegate as we made our first stop at Wooldrige Creek Winery in the beautiful rolling hillside with lush flower and herb gardens on the patio overlooking the Applegate river. We were treated like honored guests by Greg Paneitz with complimentary wine tasting, tour of the wine cave/barrels, a delicious snack of crackers, cheese, almonds, fruit, bread, and oil. We received a 10% discount on all of our purchases. We met "vino and Cooper' the winery dogs, very sweet. Next we headed to Schmidt Family Vineyards where you are greeted with a sprawling vineyard, lush gardens, picturesque pond and a one of a kind tasting room that combines craftsman-style with Northwest elegance. A combination to entice and soothe the senses. We were seated outside for a delicious lunch provided by Scott/Wine Hopper and our wine tasting. Next we headed to Sera Vineyards and experienced a beautiful view of the Applegate and some really nice wines. Last but not least, we traveled to Red Lilly which sits right on the Applegate river. We enjoyed a tasting and a glass of wine while dipping our hot toes in the cool river. We ended our day back in Jacksonville at 5pm, wined, glowing, and happy. Thanks so much Scott! You took care of our every need, carried and stored all of our wine and goody purchases safely in the van. We also received a complimentary water bottle for booking with the Wine Hopper. I would highly recommend the Wine Hopper for your group bookings, you will be extremely satisfied. Can't wait to do it again.
We loved this tour, which we did on a Monday when all the theaters in Ashland were dark. The four of us were picked up at our hotel in a comfortable van with a personable and friendly driver. We went to four fabulous wineries. At the first we tasted some great wine and played bocci ball and ate appetizers. At the second we had some great wine in a beautiful setting overlooking the mountains and had an outdoor picnic lunch, which was delicious. At the third winery we did our tastings on the beach near the creek and had some dessert. Beautiful. The fourth winery had a lovely setting and some really great wines. Scott let us decide how long we wanted to stay at each winery and never rushed us. The customer service was great. My friend left her hat at a winery and Scott went and retrieved it for her and delivered it to our hotel. Thanks Scott! All in all, a really fabulous day. I highly recommend it.
The van has lots of headroom, comfy seating and plenty of room for purchases. The chosen wineries are friendly and have a nice variety of good wines. The scenery and historical anecdotes are a nice touch.
