We love going to Lyman Orchards for the sunflower maze and the corn maze. They're on the expensive side if you go with a large family but it's definitely a fun activity for all. We've also been to several of their festivals where they have live music, pony rides and horse-drawn carriage rides among other things. The festivals are unfortunately very similar.
My wife and I brought my 8- and 11-year-old grandchildren hear for a pleasant activity on a warm summer day. My oh my, it was more than I'd hoped for. We picked many pounds of berries, plump and ripe beyond my dreams, and brought home 8 pints for $30. Amazing. I baked a pie from a Cook's Illustrated recipe when we got home, and we all agreed there was never a better blueberry pie. Ever.We enjoyed a tasty lunch from the counter at the orchard store, sitting at a picnic table under a shade tree overlooking the pond. A perfect outing.
Visited the breathtaking sunflower maze; to be followed by the tricky corn maze! Then we saw signs for up coming events ..... A trended the gingerbread house making party ! Wow ! Byob , house, candy, and snacks provide at the Lyman Homestead..... Complete with a tour. Simply amazing. A. Must do ! I am already looking forward to their lobster bake in August !
Was on a company event and we had lunch, did pumpkin carving and the corn maze. Their hot apple cider is the best and the apple cider donuts over the edge. Out lunch that they provided was excellent, the scenery was incredible even on an overcast day. Their store had the best products and smelled wonderful. Will definitely go back with the family. Corn maze really great!
We went during the berry festival. My kids were just delighted to be in the farm. The peaches were just simply amazing. I thought it was like an addiction that you just want to pick all the fruits you see.
wonderful family atmosphere with a great selection of specialty foods good, fruit, and vegetable with pick your own fruits (apples, pears etc) as well as fun events (corn maze for example) for the family at the apple barrel store (with in store bakery and deli and brunch with Santa in the historic Lyman Homestead - Not to be missed
Hi Amy, Thank you so very much for your review of our farm. We truly appreciate your comments. More important, we look forward to having you and your boyfriend out to the Orchard this year. Of course, you know that we make those delicious cider donuts fresh every day, right?! It's totally worth a road trip, even at this time of the year! :-)Thanks again for your feedback.
We went in august....it had apples, peers and peaches. Went as a family.....elderly really enjoyed. We had a great time.At apple barrel, you can eat the restaurant or you can bring your own food and enjoy picnic with family by the small pond with many ducks
The orchard is beautiful. Lots to pick and a lovely market close by "The Apple Barrel" that has fresh produce and lots of baked goods. You can purchase food to eat and you can sit outside on the patio. I'm looking forward to going back when the foliage is at peak. Lovey area.
As a resident I am disappointed that I cannot go to the local orchard and farm store because of the massive crowds. Even the pick your own lots are mobbed. I picked apples several weeks ago and they were lousy. Like another reviewer I also bought apples in the farm store and they weren't much better. The overall quality has declined based on my experience and I no longer go there on a regular basis.
