We live in the area on a part time basis. Nice place to attend on a weekend, easy parking and friendly people.
MCC has extensive calendar of great performers in many different genres and can boast quality sound. Access to nice lobby, chef prepared foods and bar area during day & evening. Full access to art gallery and exquisite gift shop stocked with work from local artisans.Very efficient, pleasant, courteous staff.
When events come together like a charm. This can certainly be said for my recent attendance at the Midland Cultural CentersA Day In The Life "James Labrie " Lead Vocalist Dream Theatre. With a great selection of wine I headed into the theatre with my glass of red to enjoy the interview. James is super comfortable and funny during the interview with Fred Hacker seated in an acoustic perfected theatre with a huge drop down screen for the audiences delight. Credit must be noted and given to the flawless presentation of video clips throughout the interview. Any questions or request I had with regard to the event or seating was quickly and efficiently taken care of.
Wonderful venue. Nice lobby, bar area. The only draw back is there is no concert seating. The seating is chairs, and the floor is level. It's was okay, very comfie but I would of liked to have know that when I was selecting the seats.Would definitely go back as the sounds was great.
I had a fantastic time at the midland culture center I went to see James labrie It was my first time there and it won't be my last !!
We have been to several different kinds of events over the past year from Classical concerts, blues events and a weekly open mic' featuring many talented local musicians to name just a few. All have been of a high calibre and great enjoyment was had by all. We would highly recommend the Midland Cultural Centre to anyone who happens to visit up this way. While you are here do not miss the art gallery with a constantly changing display of fine works by so many different local artists and take a break at the Roxy Cafe for some delicious treats.
The Midland Cultural Centre is a wonderful place to visit with exciting events going on through-out the year. State of the Art theatre; great performances in Rotary Hall; good food in the cafe; art gallery; classes; gift shop - events for everyone!! Friendly staff and volunteers will greet you too. A wonderful setting on the shores of Georgian Bay. A must visit for sure!!
Thought we were going to see Nashville Christmas concert, and it was only 2 Christmas songs. Show was expensive for what it was. We didn't even get the seats we paid for. We were on time, yet people were sitting in them, so we were forced to sit in left over seats that were not what we paid for.
We went to see Jack deKeyser - a blues guitar player in January 2015. The venue is great, acoustics excellent, the upstairs balcony has great seats and the view is perfect. Very nicely laid out.
Living in the area I am fortunate enough to receive the weekly calendar of event postings and we have been able to attend some incredible shows at his venue. The staff are all friendly volunteers (I believe) and they run a tight ship, everything runs very smoothly and on schedule. Thanks for the experiences!
