We have been here about 3\three times and love the sparkling wine, it is well worth a purchase. Owner is personable and informative.

We loved the wine at Lighthall. It is a small winery - and definitely worth visiting and buying a few bottles :) The wine-maker was very helpful and knowledgeable about the business and was more than happy to answer all our questions and show us around. The drive down is beautiful as well. If you are in the area (or not) a trip to Lighthall is definitely worth it.

... his name is Glenn Symons ! He's passionate about wine making ! He's a great host and we have a fun time whenever we visit.He has the most unique "concrete" fermentation tank.... imported from France. The only wine maker in PEC using such a tank.... the results speak for themselves.

Whatever you do don't keep driving. Another winery off the beaten path, located in the South East end of the County, we travelled down a dusty dirt road and if not for the wonderful signage would never have known there was a winery. Sadly, I didn't get the name of the young man who served us, however, what a pleasure. He was obviously very proud of the products they offered and knew wine-making well. Unlike others that try to disguise their use of Niagara grapes, Lighthall is very candid about their use of Cabernet Franc and Gewurztraminer from Vineland and since my lovely wife enjoys a good Gewurztraminer and theirs was very good some bottles had to come home, along with some Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.The real joy to this winery was the time you were able to enjoy talking about wines, production methods and philosophies and future plans. I am very excited to stop back this year to try their new sparkling wine. My understanding is they plan to make it using méthode champenoise which is the traditional way that Champagne is made. I have always enjoyed finding those wineries that are not part of the major tours, that offer a quality product and enjoy what they do as much as I enjoy their products. Sadly, some of my favourite wineries in the county are losing that personal touch in favour of commercial success. Lighthall still offers a very personal experience with wonderful products.

We loved the first stop on our wine tour at this lovely little boutique winery. Our host was delightful, very knowledgeable of his trade, and his wine a great introduction as to what we should expect for the rest of our tour.

As someone who runs boutique wine tours in the County, I have to rate my clients experiences this summer at the winery as amazing. At the end of each tour I ask them what stood out as the best experience. Nearly every client rates their time at this winery as outstanding. Glen, the owner, is so knowledgeable and engaging while at the same time making some the County's premier wines. A definite must when touring the County.

Put this winery on your Prince Edward County to-do list! Proprietor and winemaker Glen, took plenty of time to share his experience and knowledge with us! We tasted fantastic wines, had some laughs and learned more about wine making. As we were on our bikes, Glen even delivered a case we purchased to our B&B and had a bottle put on ice for our return! What is better?! This is a place you should not miss!

Glenn runs the show here and his passion for his products is undeniable. This is probably the only winery in the area (even Ontario) with a concrete tank! His Progression, a prosecco-style sparking, is excellent while setting itself apart. His Chardonnay distinguishes itself with its depth and its minerality. Similarly, his Gewurztraminer shows beautiful fruit and balance.

Tasting room was lacking in character but the wine was good.

The owner is great fun - very engaging and chatty. His dog Bacon is lovely - a real asset to the winery! The wines themselves - perfection! Go visit!
