Visited this lake in both Summer and winter. The summer visit was on a warm weekend. The lake was slightly crowded with sun bathers on walkers around the park. They was an option for Kayak. During winter the lake was frozen was I could walk over the the lake.
There are tons of things to do at Lake Calhoun. Beaches, kayaks, canoes, food and plenty of people grilling, and playing outdoor games. There are bike trails that run thru 4 lakes and even cross country skiing in the winter. It is a most-go for visitors.
Great place to walk, bike, run, walk your pet or what ever around the lakes. Weekends are very busy with Calhoun the trendy lake and Harriet the more family oriented one. On a nice day a very nice place to walk
Great lake with bike/walk/run path. View of the city and small marina. Usually pretty busy with people being active!
I loved the breeze at lake Calhoun. Its the feel of freedom. One can spend a whole evening sitting there and just be with themselves. Very nice and inspiring place for artists.
Pretty views. Great crowd watching. Tin fish restaurant on the walk right in uptown by shopping and restaurants. Part of the chain of lakes trail. These lakes and trails are the highlights of minneapolis and not to be missed
In the middle of a city, it's hard to find such an accessible area for family activities. Great spot!
You have to walk around this lake. It is the main lake of the isles, but just as beautiful as the others. Tons more busy, and in the summer time, Tin Fish is open nearby to stop and have a snack. Wonderful environment.
If your in the Twin Cities during the spring, summer, or fall, you must head to Lake Calhoun. Spend the afternoon walking around the lake, or just hanging out at the beach and looking at the skyline. Easily my favourite place to visit.
Great walking, jogging and bike paths. Amazing view of the Minneapolis skyline along the trail as well as the lake itself.
