We got married here on May 18th 2014. The site is absolutely beautiful. Its an easy to find location with lots of parking and well manicured grounds. We had the whole event outside under the oak trees and it went perfectly. The staff here are amazing people. Very sweet and welcoming! They went out of their way twice for us to return items we had left behind and it was very much appreciated. We planned this wedding from CA and they helped make it as easy as possible. Thank you all so much!
I only wish that I had an event to host in order to rent this beautiful place! It is one of the more beautiful homes I have toured in the South.
Based on reviews we made this a stop on our way to the Natchez Fall Pilgramage. It was a perfect stop, the mansion and grounds were well kept and well appointed. Our tour guide was very sweet and importantly, very knowledgeable. We enjoyed learning about the history of the property as well as the era. Worth a detour if you are anywhere in the vicinity.
I love the Bragg! I had my own wedding reception here in April 2011. This is the perfect venue for an outdoor party and use the inside for the cake etc. I'm so glad we had our reception here and I enjoy attending other ceremonies at the Bragg
My wife and I arrived at 2:05. We saw the sign that said they give tours on the hour. There was no one on the tour when we arrived. We rang the bell anyway and was greeted by a tour guide. We were told we had to wait until 3:00 but were welcome to walk the grounds. It was 95 degrees outside. We were paying customers wanting a tour and could not get one because we were not there on the hour. I could understand if there were other people there. Poor treatment of your guests.
I love this old Mobile home. Have been to many wedding receptions here. You truly get the feel of early Mobile. Love the trees covered in moss, Azalea bushes in bloom are just beautifuland the grounds are so lovely
Received a tour from Ruth. What a hoot. Day was slow, and Ruth walked us around the two floors, explaining the house, history, artifacts, etc. Was a fascinating tour, and extremely educational. Found the connection between the original builder (Mr. John Bragg) to the Confederate General Braxton Bragg (brothers) very interesting. House built in 1855.
When I knew I would be traveling to Mobile fro the first time, I put this Mansion on my list. Sadly, when I arrived they were closed on Mondays! I decided to wlk around the grounds and peek in the windows, not knowing that they were in fact staff inside tidying up after the weekend events. Souther hospitality at its finest, they came out and asked to help me! When I had said that I had come all the way form the Philadelphia area, to offered to give me a tour! It is so beautiful, I thanked them and left a donation. A must see!
I have been to many plantation homes in Louisiana, so this was not new. It was your average plantation home of the early 1800s. Very clean and well kept. Good story.
Stopped by after seeing the reviews on TripAdvisor. It was a nice surprise. Ruth was the guide and what a lovely lady and really made the tour. It was nice chatting with her as we walked through the home. The historical information she shared was interesting. It wasn't just information, but stories of the two families that lived there. The furnishings in the home and displays were beautiful. The restoration is nicely done. My visit was early December and the home was decorated for Christmas and was beautiful. The grounds are lovely. The trees are stunning. If you like visiting historic homes or just love the old south this is a must see if you find yourself in the Mobile area.
