We have done the Captains Dinner Cruise a few times over the years and was always a very pleasant experience. This time was no exception. The food was very good and the staff was very pleasant and friendly. They cruise for 2 1/2 hours and the meal is three main entrees including Prime Rib, cold sides, hot sides, dessert, and coffee and ice tea. All food is prepared fresh in the boats kitchen. Everything is included in one price except for a cash bar which is reasonable. They also have a dance floor and live bands on this cruise. Highly recommend this cruise.
Our phone reservation was handled pleasantly and efficiently and every aspect of the cruise and dinner was well done and most enjoyable. We really liked the live music, the excellent buffet, the great service. Before dinner we enjoyed a drink and the music and the view from our assigned window seats in the main dining area. After the buffet, which was excellent, we went up on the third level deck and enjoyed the sunset. I enjoyed watching the water birds that flew by. My wife did a little shopping in the gift shop. We boarded the boat at 6 and got off about 9pm. We have come to rely on trip advisor for ideas on things to do when we travel and we really enjoyed this experience. We ended up spending a little over $100 and we felt like it was worth it.
The Celebration Cruise staff did a fantastic job. The food was good, and the service fun and high quality. We did the Captain's Dinner and Dance cruise on a Friday night. We were surprised how few people were on board (only about 50) and I sure hope they get better crowds other times. It was a good value, and the singing duo was fun and easy-going.
Found this dinner cruise on the web. Was very pleased with the evening. Everything was on time, the food was great. A gentlemen named Bob (forgot his last name) was a wonder to behold he saw that everything was on time and first rate. We had a window table for two, great service. I thought that we would have to find our own table, but there was one was reserved for us. Everything about this evening was well done from the reservation phone call (Thanks Jeannie ) to the final docking. The bar is pay as you go, the buffet was prime rib( one time only for the prime rib ) but the cuts very generous. I would do this cruise again.
The boat was nice enough but it did not have a fun atmosphere. The pilot talked the whole way about river info, but it just was kinda boring. Have been on about 8 boats on the Mississippi and this one by far was the least exciting. If you are new to the river this will suffice, and you get to learn info on the area.
A nice way to spend time with friends and enjoy the beauty of nature. Will definitely look into doing an all day cruise next year.
This is not a cruise ship. Don't expect what you get on a cruise. This is great for viewing life on the Mississippi River. We took a two-day trip up the Mississippi R. from Le Claire, IA to Prairie du Chien, WI. The riverboat served us three meals each day, buffet style. The food on the second day was the same as the first. Not much verity, but we didn't come for the food. There was entertainment on the boat, but the adventure was on the open deck, observing the river, its towns along the way, the birds, and other users of the river. And learning what river life is all about. We saw a verity of birds, including white pelicans, eagles, herons, egrets, and, of course, ducks. Our cruise was ruined when my wife's purse disappeared on Monday and was not recovered until Thursday. We had to drive from the Chicago area to Moline on Friday to retrieve her purse. Thankfully, nothing was missing. However, it was hard to get the facts from the riverboat company as to what happened to the purse. They never did give us the name of the person who found the purse. Supposedly the purse was found in the bottom of the laundry bag where soiled linens were when they were doing the laundry, three days later.
Several of my siblings and their families met for an evening dinner cruise. The staff was very accommodating to our somewhat large group. The food was quite good for a buffet and even though it was a full boat, we never seemed crowded. After dinner, while the band was playing, our group was able to go topside to talk in quieter surroundings. It was a very pleasant way to celebrate a special occasion!
Hosted a large formal event on 9/29/2013 with around 100 attendees. The entire staff was amazing throughout the event and leading up to it. The setup was exactly how we planned. The food was good and the staff made sure everyone's needs were taken care of. The bartenders were generous and understanding (as some of the attendees were quite drunk) The security also did a great job while managing to stay calm. I would book them again in a heartbeat!
Our company brings many groups for an all day cruise on the Celebration Belle departing from either Dubuque or Moline. It is always most enjoyable and the food is outstanding!
