The place you must see, a must do when visiting Barcelona! Well worth a visit. We booked a half day tour via Julia Travels. Our tour guide Eva was brilliant and highly recommended. This place is incredible. Breathtaking scenery, view is amazing, very nice gift shops, market style stands with local products and one of the best churches.
You can See buildings , castl ,church Direct in the Montana 771m high .You can resch the Call by Feed, specislmtrain,MBA car ....
I am glad I had enough time to visit Montserrat during my trip to Barcelona. Since I was short on time, I completed this trip within a half day--and I still felt that this was a good amount of time (if you are fortunate enough to have good weather). If you choose to take the train from Barcelona followed by the cable car, confirm the opening time for the cable car. If you arrive prior to the cable car opening, just know there is nowhere to wait but outside. For me, the main attraction is the view over the hills of Catalonia. The monastery itself is also interesting inside, but I preferred hiking around the grounds to see the surrounding countryside.
Stunning scenery and options to take a cog wheel train up to another area, which we enjoyed. The church is stunning and worth the trip in itself. When you see the queue outside to go up to the Madonna, the queue continues inside along the length of the church and then upstairs, so it could be quite a wait, but a matter of personal preference. If you take a full train trip from Barcelona, there can be several station changes and lifts / escalators are not always available. This is a problem for anyone who has mobility issues or difficulties with stairs. Other options to get there may be worth investigating as it's a great site to visit.
The cathedral is stunning, and if you have a chance to hear the boys choir, you will feel as though you've had a slice of heaven. Take a walk to the cross for a fantastic view.
i can't really say anything that hasn't been said. The place is amazing. My advice is to make sure you budget enough time to see everything you want. We elected for a 6 mile hike that was breathtaking but added three hours on to the tour. Glad we budgeted the whole day!
Stunning location and beggars belief how they built this masterpiece.Whole day was a treat free parking at funicular station and a scary ride up to the monastery, but once there the Basilica,Museum and the whole environs makes it special. We took another train up to the heights and apart from being nearly vertical arriving and spending some time at the top looking at the views just made for a great day out.
A nice 15 minute ride on the Cog-Wheel train to the middle of the Monastery will get you to see the famous 12th Century Romanesque carving of the Black Virgin. Don't miss a stop in the gift shop as you will get a chance to taste some of the Monk's Nectar. Well worth the trip.
