Love the winery setup outside and inside. The outside of the winery is out in the middle of no where which is great, plus the setting of where you can sit and drink wine is beautiful. The wine sampling was up to 6 but that's only when it's on the weekend. When during the week and not busy then you can try what you want. Their wine has a different taste which is unique and good. I recommend anyone in the Mount Pleasant area to check out this unique winery.
We live in ohio but my husband surprised me with a trip to the mountains and a stop at Greendance on the way. The scenery was beautiful. The wine tasted good, our service was good, and we really enjoyed our time here.
One of the prettier wineries in the southwestern Pennsylvania area and Greendance's wines do not disappoint either. Live entertainment in the warm weather season, a sunset amidst a provincial garden and pastoral farmland provide for a very romantic get-together for two or a beautiful gathering for an adult group. Their food pairings are unique and delectable. Please don't visit this area without planning a visit. You won't be disappointed!
I was amazed by how lovely this winery is! The women working that day were so nice and friendly. And the wine is DELICIOUS! I wish I had bought more than one bottle. If I am ever in that area again I will definitely be making a trip back to Greendance.
This winery has a beautiful landscape, but the wine is pretty bad. However to be fair, they only give you 3 complimentary pours to taste. They might have some good wine, but I didn't taste it. The Gewürztraminer was spicy but watery. The Noiret was bland and lacking in body. The Chambourcin was not great, but drinkable. Their wine tasting list was very long with no room for descriptions. For example, not everyone knows what a Vidal Blanc tastes like other than the fact that it's a semi-dry/sweet white wine. It's nice to know what flavors you're looking for in a tasting. Also, when I asked the woman at the counter if the Noiret wine was a varietal, she didn't seem to know what I was asking. My impression is that this winery knows they have a beautify landscape in scenic western PA and is trying to produce as many different wines as possible to bring people in. They seem more concerned with quantity than quality.
Great as always, I stopped there on my way to Harrisburg for an interview and tasted some amazing wines and ended up spending more than I should of.. oops!
It is saddening to hear your experience this past Friday Late Night was not an enjoyable one. It is an unfortunate necessity that we must search all bags for outside alcohol, by law we cannot allow such things on our property and it is always a problem we face, but we aim to have it be as little an inconvenience as possible for our customers - we apologize if you felt singled out in any way, such would never be our intent here. On late nights we give a soft message to all our customers in the gardens when it comes close to closing, but be assured we would never throw anyone out or express it in such a way, again our sincerest apologies. We will see that the employee you encountered be retrained on the high level of customer service we always aim for. Thank always for any input and hope you will visit us again -Greendance
Even though I was only there for maybe 20 minutes, I felt like I was at home. The ladies were extremely pleasant and went out of their way to help us find a nearby b&b. All their wines are great and the property is stunning. It was so nice of them to let us wander around and explore!
Greendance is a charming winery with relaxing outdoor seating where you can have a glass of your favorite wine. The wine tasting was well organized and the server was helpful in suggesting options from their extensive wine list. Most are on the sweeter side, but the Cab and red blend are good if you prefer dry reds. They also have a fruit market and bakery on the grounds and a place to sit in the garden to enjoy a slice of homemade fruit pie, which was an unexpected and unique addition to our visit.
Sorry to hear your experience was not an enjoyable one, especially for such a happy celebration. We do have a picnic/outside food policy posted on our website and are always glad to speak over the phone and accommodate any special arrangements given enough notice. We have many private events and parties here that can be scheduled, but for something more low key and easy we would welcome a birthday cake as long as it follows our picnic policy. We hope you will visit us again and please do not hesitate to ask to see an owner anytime a problem arises. Thank you so much for your review - Greendance
