The beach is nice as all the beaches on the island are. We came here because it was close. This beach is family oriented, maybe boring for a couple or singles. The happy hour is a good deal but the kitchen was slammed and we waited about 45 minutes just for some oysters and shrimp! Facilities here are basic but at least they are available.
great for small children, bathroom and food--pet friendly. plenty of room to park bikes. surf is gentle for kids and there is a playground area.
I loved this beach for the calmness of the water. You could see your feet even when you were three feet out. There was a sand bar which was great to sit on and relax. Life guards are present but did not have to do anything. i never heard one whistle. Food is available to sit down or take back to you blanket.
Great beach with a couple hundred yard long sandbar due to the huge jetty. Kids love it as did I as we raced across it every which way playing catch and tackling one another. 10 out of 10 beach for kids.
Great Beach and restaurant. Great prices on food and drinks with the best sunset you will ever see. Boat rentals also available. Stand up paddle board, Kayak or sailboats. Shuttles running every half hour.
Great place if you have kids, since there is often music, you can sit in the sand on chairs of course. Casual menu. I don't like eating on paper plates and the place could use a good scrub down, but aside from that ok.
Jetties Beach is very popular with families and with good reason. There's plenty of beach to go around and the water is warm and shallow due to the sand bar. With no surf it's perfect for smaller children. The Jetties beach bar and restaurant is fun, lively and right there on the beach with you. Facilities include restrooms with showers, a shop (in case you forget your sunscreen - but don't faint at the super high price tag for that little bottle). Nice touch is the 'walkway' out to the beach by the water, makes the little bit of a walk easier for little ones (and elder ones) on the sand. If you walk around the point to the right of the jettie you'll find a place to rent sea kayaks, small sailboats, etc.
Calmer because of its location on the Bay side. Sand bar out about 30 yards from beach is great for little kids to sit on and have soft waves come to them. Really decent food at its beach restaurant and bar.
Take in a quiet and serene walk. Anticipate collecting some Atlantic Slipper shells ... they are in abundance. Lovely houses are in the distance Walk along the rocky namesake jetty. You will enjoy yourself here.
we bought the bus pass ( 7 dollars for the day) we came across this beach and ended up spending most of the day since it was such a great beach day :-) there is a restaurant with bar as well as take out .. the prices were not bad either ... you can eat inside outside or at tables on the beach. The beach was nice ... there is a sand bar that you could wade out to and shells on the beach . the water was warmer and calmer great for a swim to relax and cool off ! A great safe beach for the kids ! there are changing rooms and bathrooms as well as a store . our only regret is that the last bus leaves at 5:45 and I know the sunset would have been beautiful. the walk back to town would have taken too long for us to enjoy time in town before the ferry left . It depends on what else you want to do you could relax there for a few hrs get some lunch and move on or spend the day
