Some great exhibits... No English though.... and staff at the aquarium could not speak English Short walk from all the main attractions.
really enjoyable museum, and especially useful if you have young children that you want to keep busy. Even for adults it is a nice way to pass time.
I love aquaria - I know I can find them near oceans or seas. But here's an aquarium in the North Eastern part of France - no sea to be seen - and bang in the middle of the city. Ehh? So we went there and were amazed. The tanks on offer may be on the small side but they were ever so clean and, more important, the corals are colourful and look very healthy - a truly good sign. Kudos for this museum! The entrance fee is way below the price you have to pay in the 'famous' aquaria and your children will absolutely love the marine life on offer. You will too. Well worth a visit!
The aquarium had some animals that i had never seen. There were massive hippos and walruses in the museum which made it so fascinating.
I went yesterday with my kids, age 8 and 12. They LOVED it. They are used to going to large Aquariums in the US but rated this one as excellent. We spent there a little more than one hour, and they were excited and happy the whole time. There are very special and interesting fish. Very interesting for adults too. My daughter told me "mommy, you said this was not going to be as good as the New England Aquarium in Boston. You lied to us"! I agree with her. So, although it is a small aquarium, I strongly recommend it.
The tanks are too high, the explanations are so-so. Not my favourite aquarium, by any stretch. The foot stools provided for the kiddos do compensate somewhat, but don't hold your breath for something special. The big tank at the end is cool. The exhibit upstairs, with actual stuffed animals, gave my 3-year-old nightmares. The days of taxidermy are over. It looks a bit too much like a science classroom.
This is a different kind of museum than most you see in Nancy, or all of France for that matter. The tanks of tropical fish were interesting but small. The other stuffed animals on display would be neat if you like that kind of thing. My favorite part was the incredible flower gardens outside right next to the museum. Every color you can imagine! Good thing to see once, but I wouldn't frequent.
Over 60's only 2.20 euros for a really good aquarium and animal museum.Really good way to spend a couple of hours.
Unbelievable shapes and colors swimming for bewitched spectators in the ground flour aquariums... The mystery of dawn at all seasons revealed by the photo exhibit in the first floor.A small museum: a great place...
