Saw Christmas Carol... Just wonderful! Price just right. View from seats- great. Community Theater is alive and well here.
I don't know how many people visit The Nevada Theatre from out of town, but coming from a local of Nevada City, this theater is very special. Every year, several community theater productions take place and they are always fabulous! All the seats are nice and comfortable with good viewing and there are two levels; the ground floor and the balcony. Besides the live theater venue, there are film sessions. Two major ones are: The Wild and Scenic Film Festival and The Nevada City Film Festival. The theater is accessible to all ages, although some events may not be reccommended for children. It's a place full of life, great location downtown, and always a fun experience!
This is a lovely old theater offering an intimate atmosphere in a fabulous little town. Productions are reliably good.
Heard Kelly Fleming perform with Nina Gerber and Juliet Gobert in a concert produced by Paul Emery, one of a series he is presenting. Great way to enjoy yourself and support the arts!
Had a 7 piece orchestra and this small town. Town folk were friendly and usually 55+ The theatre was a success the night we went which was a Thurday. Good place to go away from the big cities.
The commitment to producing theatre arts in Nevada City is higher and better than the local size of population would suggest. Add to the variety of live theater and other uses is the thought that Mark Twain peformed in this theatre and its been actively used as a theatre longer than any other building in the West.
This is the crown jewel of Nevada City. Mark Twain walked this stage. I have experienced countless plays and performances here. The Theatre is beloved. Bring a coat, it's cool inside this brick haven!
This is a fantastic historical theater in Nevada City California with many great productions. The Christmas show is coming up don't miss out.
The current production of "Company" is as good as anything you would see in any theater, anywhere, Our new seats are comfortable and the size of the theater is just perfect for Nevada City.Full house attendance of about 300 makes for an exciting evening. My wife & I attend every production and they just seem to be getting better and better. Is it possible that we can keep these gifted people in our small town theater?..I hope so. !
We went to see Peter Pan with 3 generations ranging from 9 to 73 and all 8 of us enjoyed ourselves. Seating is comfortable and the theater well air conditioned. There were great treats available at the intermission. No one had difficulty hearing the actors. Actors were very good in their characters and it was nice to hear so many children laughing throughout the play. Overall a fun experience.
