My friends and I saw "Fifty Shades Of Grey" it was hilarious! Unfortunately if someone sat in front of you and you were not on the incline of seating in the theatre, it made it difficult to see. The theatre was packed so a lot of shifting from side to side in order to view this play.
The theater interior is stunning. It's wonderful to have such a lovely venue close by. Tickets can be a bit pricey, but for the most part it's a good value.
Great folk music in a historic theater. If you got bored you can look at the walls and ceiling with last century design.
This is a majestic old theatre, hiding behind a nondescript façade. Inside the architecture reminds one of how theatres used to be. The pipe organ still works, and sounds beautiful. The rows are well-spaced; you are not crowded. We saw The Sound of Music here, and while the cast was good, they were made better by the theatre.Acoustics were superb. And, the Director used the space well, because there is such great space.
I love old theatres like this one and I was glad to see it's been saved and restored. It's a great mid sized theatre with comfortable seats and good sound. We were there for the folk festival and saw a couple of acts there. It was a hot day outside and the ac felt really nice too! They are currently restoring the facade so the next time I visit it should look even better from the street. It's conveniently located right in the middle of the old section of New Bedford.
great place to see a show or concert, close to the downtown area. lots of places to go to after the show, like Knuckleheads bar and grill and black whale. There beer and alcohol could use some updating.
Great atmosphere, serves wine and beer. Beautiful architecture, grew up with this place down the street, awsome venue for shows, plays and concerts
This theater, or Performing Arts Center, is an awesome venue. I frequent this center often and have never been disappointed at all. The seats, although some are not the best in comfort, are positioned that there is no bad seat in the place. They have acts for every taste of the arts. Concerts, plays, musicals, comedians, you name it this venue has had it. Come enjoy New Bedford's Finest Center for the Performing Arts
No need to drive to Boston and pay alot for parking or Providence for that matter when you have the "Z" right in your back yard. And for nearly half the cost. The performances are tops and big name people. There is always such a variety offered to suite most everyone. You can rock in the comfy seets closer to the stage or sit still in the seats more to the rear. Never a bad seat.
You can't beat the "Z" for local theater, it's as good as going to the PPAC. NB Festival Theater is always excellent. Marchand and Charbonneau are one fantastic team.
