14 writers, 7 directors, 21 actors and a producer have 24 hours to come up with 7 plays, 10 minutes each! Great fun!
This is a gem of a place. Had and excellent evening her attending an event in the theater. Plan to become members of this special place,
My girlfriend and I joined another couple and we watched a great couple of hours of comedy. Very intimate theater. Very clean and good acoustics.
Newburyport is fortunate to have a thriving arts center with a jewel of a 200-seat theater that presents the community with a variety of artistic events such as plays, musicals, dance, concerts and children's programs throughout the year. Recently, the Firehouse produced "The 39 Steps," which garnered 11 nominations in the DASH awards by Eastern Massachusetts Association of Community Theaters.
I attended a Tom Rush concert here. The small size of the room allowed for more of a connection with the artist than you might expect for such a marquee act. It is located in downtown Newburyport next to its Waterfront Park, so take in the local ambience, shops and restaurants, too.
Haven't been for a while, but this is a great little theatre to see a play or performance. It's fairly small which makes it an engaging experience. Have seen lots of wonderful shows here. There are also lots of wonderful restaurants nearby for dining before or after.
We saw a production of "To Kill a Mockingbird." This was our second visit to the Firehouse for a dramatic production. Well cast, well staged, blocked out well. All in all, an excellent production for reasonably priced tickets. Watch the schedule. We'll definitely return.
The Theater itself hasn't got that theater ambiance it should have and the plays, etc. I have seen there are not that great. I think it is more of a proving ground for new material.
Whether theatre, classical or popular music, dance, film, or other genres, there is diverse programming with something for every taste.
What an intimate little venue. The Boston Comedy show was the first time I attended an event here. Not a bad seat in the house. The show was probably one of the funniest comedy shows I've attended, well done Firehouse, for attracting such great talent. I'll definitely attend more events there!
