It was a lovely lake, but it was a quiet lake . On the day we went there wasn't boating skiing, swimming, ect. Although to be fair I understand normally it is a well used lake
I'm any given weekend in the summer you will find my family out on our boat enjoying the lake. Tubing fishing and just hanging out. The sandbar up in Newtown is an excellent place in about 2 feet of water where you can bring two broomsticks and moore the front and back of your boat. Always a crowd, and lots of people watching.
Peaceful lake, there is a cute hot dog/hamburger/ice cream stand where you can get lunch and relax by the water. Not a lot of frontage though.
Best burgers, great hot, buttered lobster rolls and a great local neighborhood meet and greet. Do stop in!
Lake Zoar is an attractive lake but it isn't easily accessible for visitors. Visitors should seek Newtown's beautiful walking trails, which provide a Short Escape from the urban areas of New York and Connecticut. Walks are also highly recommended on the main street with the flagpole in the middle of the road. You'll find Victorian houses, historic Edmond Town Hall and other sights. Go inside the hall and proceed to the second floor to view the mural and all the famous Newtown residents' names on the wall. Make sure to also walk around the historic Hattertown district, a former hat-making center.
A lovely lake for a quiet day. Not a lot of activites, but a great place to just hang out. It is really more of a locals hangout rather than a destination unto itself.
Lovely Lake to Kayak or boat or swim! Have spent time kayaking I found that early morning is best for a more tranquil experience. Boating is great anytime! Fun way to spend a summer day or evening.
had a day trip with a neighbor to try out their new boat- wound up waterskiing on the Lake- great fun.
Good burgers......don't get the fish and chips....not good. Lobster roll was too salty. Good fresh ice cream for the kids.
Great lake to tube, fish and party..not crazy like candlewood...check out the sandbar where the party is at
