Pack enough balls- This course can play very long and it's not easy by any means. It gets fairly narrow on the front 9. Course is in great shape and I've played it since it first open and had a small trailer act as their pro shop. But now, the pro shop is amazing. Great little dining area that opens up to the back facing the 1st and 18th.The price is just right and it's even cheaper for college students! For me, as a CGP member (visit www.collegegolfpass.com for more info), it was only $25 for 18 holes. Mass college students, take advantage of this course. Not too far from Boston or Central Mass.
Was as the Shining Rock Golf Club for the 4th time yesterday. This course is Fantastic!!If you go before 9AM or at 1:30 or later Monday - Friday it only costs $49 for 18 holes and a golf cart. The views are stunning. Make sure you bring extra balls because the course is extremely difficult.Besides the great views and amazing quality of the course, it is very long. One of my biggest complaints about public courses is they are too short. I don't ever need to pull out the driver. At this course, if you play from the Blue or the Gold, the course is very long and difficult.Hole #4 is amazing. Hole #5 is awesome too.The average time spent to play 18 holes is 3:45 which is also great. There is a practice area for chipping, putting and swinging.Go play here! You will thank me later.
The course survived the harsh winter better than my home course. An interesting "track", with a few holes that one would benefit from having played a previous round. Great "value" and an excellent 19th hole. Definitely a once or twice a season "escape" from a membership course. If I lived closer, I would consider a membership.
Holes 2-5 are interesting but challenging for the high handicapper. There are some spectacular views. But pace of play was sufficiently slow on a weekend - even starting at 1 pm - that I had to stop after 9 to make a dinner engagement. And there is no driving range, just a cage.
This is a real golf course. You will need to bring your game as sloppy play will get you a big score in a hurry. The course offers multiple tee boxes so you can play it as long as you like. Many holes, especially the front nine, have dramatic layouts that require good shots to stay in play. Its well manicured, plays through the woods with very nice bunkers, smooth greens and beautiful scenery. The clubhouse just opened this year (2012) and is a great place to grab lunch and a beverage. It has large doors they open when the weather is nice and even have a firepit on the patio on cooler days. The staff is extremely friendly and welcome your business.I highly recommend this course if you appreciate the game.
Played here last year with friends in the spring. Started with a very nice meal in the club, The course is fantastic with great views. The greens roll very true. Overall I would give them a very high rating. The best new course I have played in years.
This course sparkles with creativity and drama. Spectacular views enhance the design and layout of this gem tucked away in Northbridge. This is the type of course that is challenging, rewarding and makes you want to play it again. Put this on you list!
We loved our experience at shining rock, the course is in great shape, challenging to play and the staff are customer friendly.
This course must be played! Very tough and lots of tee boxes for the faint of heart. The greens were pefect. Not to bad as the rangers are out there. Good place to grab a bite after the round as well. Mike
This course is a must play. No two shots are alike. The greens were like glass and fairway were lush. The staff headed by Lou, are helpful and friendly. Nice bar area for afterwards. The only negative is that there in no real driving range. There is a small hitting net though and good enough for warm ups. Other then that, one of if not the best course in the area.MJP
