I had called Antony Ashley at RSR Nurburg and was very glad to hear another South African on the line. I had made bookings with him for 3 of my family members and I to drive around the 'Ring with professional driver tuition before we got lapping. He also recommended great accommodation and food places. We had booked Lotus's for the Road Tour and were pleasantly surprised when we were presented with Porsche GT3's. Domenico Solombrino gave us a fantastic tour of all the sights and sounds around Nurburg. He also told us exactly where we could push to really enjoy ourselves in the Porsches. We then had driver tuition from both Antony and Domenico. They were extremely professional and showed us the best way around the 'Ring. In between laps, we were welcomed at RSR offices for refreshments and friendly chats. In the evening, Antony and Domenico arranged for us to have dinner at a fantastic restaurant and we even got to share our table with the Legendary Lady of the 'Ring, Sabine Schmidt (who was awesome company, full of 'Ring stories). We all had a fantastic time living out a true "Bucket List" event and we can't wait to get back to try out the other tracks and cars RSR has to offer.
We have all seen "The Ring" on programmes such as Top Gear and only a chosen few have the nerve to try it. I didnt want to take my own car, mainly due to the fact its a company car and my boss would sack me!RSR have a great range of cars and is only around the corner from the start. Good driver briefing, and helmets are supplied. Price are ok for the basic Twingo although if I go again I will get a faster car as everything German overtook me.Friendly staff and I will be back.
Travelling from Canada, it obviously wasn't feasible for us to bring our own car to the 'Ring. My travel companion, whose trip to the 'Ring ticked another item off his bucket list, dealt with RSR, and was very impressed with them right from the start. Their customer service was excellent. All communications were by email, replies were prompt, helpful, and informative, and the booking process was completely painless. My friend chose the beginner's package, which included a road tour, lunch, and four laps of the track, during the first of which a professional driver rode along in the passenger seat giving pointers. We stayed with the basic car for the road tour - a Lotus Exige - because my friend wanted to put any upgrade money into his track car. Miguel took us out on the road tour, and he was great. We stopped to see various spots on the track, and he always had lots of interesting information to share. But, as my friend said, "less talking, more driving" would have been better. As for the track portion, the safety briefing was helpful and concise. And a little scary, as they make clear the potential for things to go wrong, be dangerous, and become expensive. My friend upgraded his track car, choosing the Renault Megane. There are a lot of different cars available, so if you want something sportier or more exotic, chances are RSR has it.From the point of view of a non-driver, it was worth tagging along for the day. Beyond the enjoyment of watching my friend enjoy himself, the photographer in me was in heaven having full access to a lot of beautiful cars to snap. I'm not much for socializing in groups, so I'd wander off to take pictures while everyone else was chatting and Miguel, realizing I wasn't in my element, approached both my friend and I to ask what he could do to make me happier. It was another example of the excellent customer service that we received from start to finish. We have every intention of going back to the 'Ring someday, and will deal with RSR again without hesitation.
Love the guys in this place. They are absolutely profession, know what their are doing, the car was perfect, ready to race.I've rented a simple Suzuki Swift Pack 2. All the rental negotiation was made by email and everything worked perfectly. "My car" was waiting for me, the reservation was garanteed and I didn't had to pay anything advanced.I visited nurburgring in a Sunday morning, and really loved the whole experience. It's expensive, eventhough for a "weak" car like the Suzuki, but the experience is complete and really gives you lots of fun, and in the end, i think that renting an underpower car for the first time, is more safe and doens't make it any worst.I sure recommend them, an experience for life.
Had a Lotus tour yesterday with Karen and now we are in Prague and after a few drinks recalling our conversations during the day and getting hysterical again . What a great day a highlight so far but a warning whatever you do don't mention the Japanese the sausages and the chiwawa .. Dog that is
Having just come back from the Ring and Spa, and renting from Ray @ RSRNurburg, I would like to highly recommend their customer service and support.I would definitely use them again to rent a car or obtain instruction for either track.
Traveled to the Nurburgring recently with my daughter and a group of friends. While there we rented the renault sport clio and drove laps on the ring. We also did the Nurburgring/Spa Mega Tour driving the porsche cayman S. Both were an awesome experience! our host Felton on the tour was great! We all had a Great time. I would recommend RSR to anyone visiting the Nurburgring.
Rental location and instruction was great. Wished I couldve done more laps. In November, they had limited high performance cars.
I had a chance to go to Germany with my dad who was on a business trip. Since I had a little bit of knowledge on the Nurburgring from friends, video games, and racing events, I thought it would be worthwhile to check the track out while I am there. I was told by friends that normal car rentals would not be allowed, so I went online to search for options. The Nurburgring website itself does not appear to offer rentals catered to Americans, since they need to send the reservation package to an address in Europe. There were a few alternative options available for Americans, but RSR was the first that I contacted. During the discussion, the representative from RSR was quite friendly, and offered the beginner’s package. The package includes a road tour car (visiting the surrounding area), a buffet lunch (restaurant related a racer’s family), and four laps with a track car. The lunch itself was nice, with a taste of Germany. The road tour visited the local racing companies/groups, historical sites, and (although it was skipped for me) a museum. The track car includes one lap with an instructor, who is quite capable of allowing you to drive in a fun and safe manner, and further three laps on your own. All-in-all it was a great experience and the company offered quality service. The only downside I would say is the price. This is an expensive experience, but in my opinion is worth it if you don’t get to go to the track (or Germany) a lot. Also to note, the company offers a wide range of cars, so cheap options to high end/pricey options are all available.
this was a very learning experience…worth the cost ….i strongly recommend it to the ones thats thinks they can knowledge the nurburgring without an introduction by pros...
