Great place to visit for the winter weary. Lush, green and best of all warm! A place for all ages to enjoy.
Small conservatory but beautiful, well-maintained selection of plants including tropical, temperate and desert areas. Staff are nice and knowledgeable. Programs are informative.
Changing displays monthly, and all are gorgeous. Friendly staff, well-tended gardens, George the parrot and his endless, engaging "Hellos!" A great way to spend a part of any day surrounded by beauty and classical music in a consistently immaculate setting. At this place, there is something to experience every foot of the way if you look carefully. Miniscule entry donation goes to help defray the costs of running such an incredible place.
This was my first time visiting the Conservitory and it was ok. I was there for my cousins bridal shower which was in the conference room.I didn't get a chance to walk around the building but the room was very nice for a shower. I would recommend it for a small gathering like a shower.
A little place but such a treat for a small community. several buildings of different climates, helpful staff. Very peaceful in any season. Sponsor some top-notch community events through the year.
Really beautiful, well connected by the metro. Be prepared to walk and enjoy the view. The conservatory and botanical garden have an amazing collection of plant variety. Well maintained and peaceful.
I as a kid grew up on East Ave. so was a staple to go visit on a rainy day. small but very nice as a kid was so kool to see the trees and building a nice place; you will enjoy. nice park across the street.
The Garfield Park conservatory (in Chicago) is outstanding and a must do, but this little Oak Park Conservatory is a gem, too. LIttle, contained, very comfortable to do with little kids, has all the ecosystems.
I love the Oak Park Conservatory. It is a beautiful place to go for a break from stressors like the Eisenhower traffic! My husband and I looked at many venues for our wedding and decided on the Conservatory. The lights at night are just breathtaking and the new outdoor garden area is spectacular with native plantings, shade trees and water features. It was a magical place for our wedding. I still drop by regularly to enjoy the gardens, the birds, and the wonderful, friendly staff who are always there to answer questions.Highly recommended for a tranquil place to visit in Oak Park.
Perfect for a visit on the way to the airport! Many unusual interesting plants under glass. There were blooming & fruiting coffee and cacao trees, huge cycads, big spiny things and a Patchouli plant, among many others. They have several cages of parrots and some large koi in the beautiful pond. There is also an outdoor area. It grows thousands of plants for public planting and conducts many educational programs. Free, but donations accepted. Nice little gift shop. Easy access from Eisenhower Expressway or CTA Blue Line Oak Park stop.
