There was shade if you wanted it...food and booze if you wanted it...clean bathrooms and oh, did I mention white sand and warm clean water? Why aren't you there now? :)
Clear water, clean beach, lovely sand, safe to go in the water and swim. A great location for families with a convenient car-park a stone's throw away and showers where you can wash off the sand and sea water when you're finished swimming.
Loved this beach. It is almost 2 beaches in one divided by a small outcrop. One side has a lovely bay and the sea is very very calm and the other side is a wider straight stretch of sand with small waves. There are shower and toilet facilities plus a couple of stalls selling food and drink. Def worth a visit. We travelled by bus to Oistins and then the beach is a short walk from there.
Lovely beach, a lot of trees, nice waves, toilets, food stall, just everything you need for a sunny day. Will definetly go there again.
We're staying right across the street at Little Arches! Great location. Loved sharing the beach with the locals at 4:30 with great swimming and fish cakes from Mr. Delicious!!
This beach has two parts; firstly there is a small bay at the start which is perfect for swimming and the second is the main beach. The waters were great for swimming and the views along the cliffs were incredible. There were trees for shelter if you needed a break from the sun and several vendors selling snacks, fresh fish and coconuts; plus it's right on Oistins doorstep so if you fancied a larger lunch/dinner this was perfect.
We spent a couple of enjoyable days here. The beach was clean and quiet. We hired 2 loungers and parasol for $30 bbs. Tree area at the top of the beach was nice and shaded. Mr delicious food van served a good selection of food and drinks (coconut punch and chiken roti were amazing) there are shower and toilet facilities close by.
After visiting well over five beaches on this, our second trip to Barbados, this beach was near the bottom of our list.Parking was limited to "on the street" where you could find a space. The waters edge was inundated with algae & seaweed, making only small portions of it swimmable to our 6 & 7 year old children. The "calm" area (around a small rock jetty) was good for wake boarding, but still had the above seaweed issue that made the kids want to get out of the water (which almost never happens at any beach). We had a view of an ugly tanker ship moored in the not-so-distant bay.On the plus side, the Mr. Delicious food truck had many good choices for adults and children, although the wait was a bit on the long side (~15min for a sandwich) during the lunchtime rush.
Plenty of shade if you need to get out of the sun. Nextdoor Miami beach has the calmest water we found.
Plenty of parking. Facilities available. Locals swimming. No overpowering waves. Lovely. Very relaxing. Van offers take away food - good.
