This was a very nice little trip on a train. We sat further in the back by the mail car. All the men that run this all do this volunteering. The gentleman in the mail car was very interesting. We enjoyed this tour. Would recommend it to any one. The kids on the trainl seemed to enjoy it also.
Glad you enjoyed it. I watched when your grandson was on the rear platform and the horn when off at a crossing - did he ever jump!We certainly hope that you take the chance to come back again. Take care.
What a great way to spend a Saturday morning! The leaves were not in full color, but even the 'sprinkling' of color was beautiful. The train ride was fun and interesting to walk through the old cars. Food was great also!! Reasonabely priced for the experience!
We chose the dinner train so see the fall colors & revisit the fun of train travel. It was an enjoyable afternoon. Tablecloths & a glass of champagne added to the ambiance. The food was quite good. The servers had trouble keeping track of which table to serve next & the service was a little slow but it was worthwhile. I would recommend boarding early if you want a window seat but the landscape is pretty no matter where you sit.
We enjoyed our ride on the rails very much. Very relaxing and beautiful scenery. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Just love the sound of the train whistle as it approaches each crossing.
My Mother & I did the Fall Colors Train Ride on Oct. 11 in Osceola, WI to the Marine on St. Croix. I've been wanting to this ride for the longest time. Anyway, we boarded the train just before 10am and it left pretty much on time. There was no narrator for this trip, but that was not a big deal for me at all. While my mom was in the coach car, I spent time in the Concession Car that had open air to where you could get the best pictures. Along the journey, the Fall Colors were some of the best that I've seen. The Volunteer Staff were very nice, especially this soon-to-be 15 year old girl volunteer who hung out with me for some of the ride. Although the train did last 90 minutes, I wish that it would've gone a little farther and last a little longer, but all in all, it was great. The next time we come back to the Depot, we're going to do a ride to Dresser, WI. I've been wanting to check out the Depot and see what it looks like on the inside.
Thanks for reviewing us. We always want to know what did, right or wrong.
The scenery is great, the train and it's car décor is wonderfully authentic, and the crew was enjoyable for children and adults alike. There wasn't anything to dislike.
Thanks ever so much for reviewing us, and especially for the kind words. We try to give a view of times past, letting people know the world they came from years ago. Thanks again.
Thank you. Yes, we are train enthusiasts out here and we enjoy sharing with everyone who takes a ride with us. We're always surprised at how many people have memories of watching trains, relations who worked for a railroad or riding the train when they were young. Thanks again.
