Nice trails. Very clean. Beautiful water features and sculptures throughout trail! Nice luminary walk duringChristmas season.
We visited the Arboretum for the first time on a warm springlike day in March. What a gem! The grounds are beautifully maintained, with trees and flower beds all identified, many water features, sculptures, and hiking paths. There is even a Train Garden with model trains and a replica of old Overland Park. With admission only $3 for adults, it's a great place to walk/hike/stroll on a beautiful Kansas day.
As an avid gardener, I love exploring gardens, and garden centers. These places are always inspirational. I find that the Arboretum is at it's most beautiful in August, but it's always a treat no matter the time of year. I can spend hours there, not only in the landscaped gardens, but also walking the path through a wooded area, and enjoying the sculptures that are spread throughout. The OP Arboretum is so worth a visit!
The OP Arboretum and Gardens has a variety of gardens laid out along a comfortable walking path that is wheelchair accessible. The gardens change characteristics through seasons but is always beautiful. I go at least 4-5 times between April and August as the different flowering shrubs, bulbs, roses, perennials and even annuals come into their own. they also have a charming Halloween and Christmas themed decorations. There are refreshments and light snacks available at the gardens or you can bring your picnic. Oh - and you can bring your puppy on a leash!
We went on Mothers Day ( I got in free) It was so pretty, warm, lots of families but plenty of room to roam. My first time here and I was very impressed. It was very peaceful and I would love to go back and just chill and read a book
This amazing garden is a great place for a late afternoon walk. The beauty, even in winter, is breathtaking.
A little bit for everyone, childrens hands on garden, train garden, mulched trails, beautiful planned gardens, statues. My favorite place to bring a picnic and just relax for a bit. Definitely worth the small entrance fee, or become a "friend of the arboretum" for yearly access. Lots of activities throughout the year, but it's still easy to find a quiet spot to chill.
Put on your walking shoes and enjoy the beautiful gardens. Monet's waterlily pond/bridge and gardens has been recreated here. Fish ponds, prayer gardens, children's gardens and discovery area. Every time we visit there are new additions! All ages will love. Great place to have family pictures taken. Gift shop and nature center is wonderful with nature books, paintings and garden items. We purchased beautifully hand painted pitchers and glasses by a local artist. A great place to go alone and renew, refresh and de-stress !Tip: the only restroom is at the beginning of the walk and it's a long walk :)Bring a camera and take lots of pictures. Take time to walk through and enjoy!
We visited here in September and it was gorgeous! It has beautiful water features and a pond with fish and turtles. It has nice, easy trails to walk and plenty of shade. Sculptures throughout the park. There is a wide variety of flowers, trees and shrubs and they are all well maintained and beautiful. If I lived nearby, I would definitely have a yearly pass because I would visit often! They have a gift shop and a cafe, but we did not eat there. Clean restrooms too! Small entry fee but WELL worth it. Very clean, quiet and peaceful. I would highly recommend for all ages!
Planned garden beds for each season, and wonderfull woodland hikes of various lengths. Great value for the price of entry.Always relaxing!
