love revisiting this fondly remembered place from my childhood.picnic pavilions, playground, ducks and geese on the pond, fitness trail, public swimming pool, basketball courts, and access to fitness trail.
Not the plae it used to be with train, Tilt-a-Whirl, Orbit, Bumper Cars, but it is a nice place to bring the kids with lots of new playground equipment and lots of majestic oaks with squirrels and geese everywhere. The Lake's Duck Island has been refurbished and is a focal point. The Greenway trail is a local favorite for bikers and joggers and runs to the Ohio River from the North side of the Park.
I learned that geese hiss by going to this park. I was looking around the beautiful gazebos and these ducks came waddling up looking for food. When I didn't have anything for them they make an awful hissing sound at you and will charge at you.
We went to see the Christmas light display in the park. We also like to go to the park & feed the ducks & squirrels. I also love going & walking around the track or play on the playground.
This park reminded me of walking around camp in the north woods of Wisconsin. There was a lot of activities for the local and tourists to use as well.
Bob Noble has gone through so many changes in my lifetime. Memories of the "Funland" are still deep in my mind. Duck Island's slow crumble into the lake was disheartening. But with some luck, money has been allocated to work on girding up the sides of the lake and developing a new and improved island for the friendly fowl that inhabits the park. Speaking of the lake, it is part of the Kentucky Neighborhood Lake program, and is a nice urban location to take the kids fishing There are now very nice playgrounds for families, and many pavilions for lunch. The pool has been recently renovated, and there's a nice amphitheater. The park annually hosts a nice light show for Christmas. The only concern I have had recently was last summer. It appeared that about a third of the park (mostly the back side) was not being mowed. I'm sure this was an effort to save money, but the park as a whole is very nice.
Every city and town should try to emulate this park design. Open, inviting, and spacious. Back in November we were traveling from Minneota, Minnesota back to our home in Gainesville, Florida. Former Paducah residents told us to stop off to sample some Starnes BBQ. We did stop, and we were greatly surprised. We took the fantastic food across the street and then enjoyed the wonderful sunshine and beautiful canopy of oak and elm trees with their fall brilliance. We noticed ongoing park improvements, and many families of all ages appreciating this gem in their beautiful town. Noble Park is a rarity in our over-development crazed removal to renovate society. Please, don't ever let this park go to the commercial/residential developers, or the like.
We always enjoy this park when in Paducah. Each year we go to Paducah to see the Christmas light display which is fantastic. One thing that is important to us is the presence of nativity scenes which this display has. We stayed two nights and drove through each night. Money and canned goods are collected for the food pantrys in the area which is another plus - there is no charge but helping the hungry is a bonus. We listened to the radio station all through our time in Paducah. We plan to return next year.
Very nice playground. Bring bread to feed the geese. Pretty grounds. Several pavilions with picnic tables. It was too cold to try the pool and splash pad
Went for the Christmas Light and really enjoyed ourselves. Would completely recommend this to all families with/without children. Loved that they have a radio station that played Christmas must you could tune into. Really enjoyed the park before the light came on. Excellent playground and loved to see the wildlife. Also enjoyed the walking trail.
