A must see. Lots of mosaics, well preserved. The house is also covered so you can get our of the heat and sun for a little time.
Fascinating how they made such beautiful artwork that has lasted so long, and survived so much. Good place to visit to pass the time and see how people lived centuries ago.
Well worth a visit reasonably priced like a lot of historical sites in Cyprus some stunning mosaics most areas unrestricted access the site is spread over a large area so go prepared very little shade so hats are a good idea there is a small place with vending machines to get cold drinks but little else .
Do not miss this. An upmarket Roman villa with stunning mosaics. Each one better than the previous and beautifully preserved. A direct look into how we used to live.
I have visited the House of Dionysus on two occasions, once many years ago and then again more recently. It has had a lot of work carried out since the first time I was there and I had an utterly fascinating visit. There is quite a large area to walk around, and the Mosaics are just breath taking....that was my favourite part. Situated at the far end of the harbour, it is inexpensive and great value for money.
The House of Dionysus is one of the areas of Kato Paphos Archaeological Park that showcases mosaics under the protective roof and they are on display all year round. It is a great place to get familiar with the detailed art work of the ancient craft and polish up on the stories of Roman mythology.
Amazing. You cannot picture what the houses would have been like. It is a shame they are not still there.
The mosaics housed inside the buildings on the huge world heritage site were stunning and well worth a visit. not so good outside was the fact that most of the mosaics were covered with sand probably to protect them from the elements.
if you love the classics, architecture and all things ancient don't miss this. I loved the way you can still see the work in progress
This was very reasonably priced for the amount on show. We were there in spring and the wild flowers were amazing. Not great when pushing a buggy as the ground is very uneven in places but really worth the effort. It would be a shame to visit Paphos and not visit this sight.
