found a good restaurant close to the ship tender but other than that, a significant disappointment. Travel pictures make it look a lot better than it is. Poor condition. Streets were terribly flooded which did not help. Sorry, but I just don't get it....
Paraty is almost the best experience in the south of Brasil, so close to Rio de Janeiro ( center), you will find a combination of culture, nature, jungle, beachs and energy people! Is a quiet town for walk and spend time drinking a beer and talking with the local people. The sunset is amazing and the central historic is an incredible scenery.
Boating, swimming, eating - little beach shack restaurants, fish so plentiful that you feel them rubbing your feet when you swim, lovely water, endless islands. You get the gist.
amazing place.go in the morning and see all the colorful boats getting ready for a trip around the islands!go to the fort and see the city from the hill
We swam in the warmest water ever with very few people around, we visited beautiful bays, saw nature at its best, the local fauna and exotic fishes and birds. We had a delicious lunch on an island beach. We had the chance of having a very knowledgeable boatman and guide to ourselves for the day and would recommend sailing on Barco Latitude with Andre.
A small village where you feel good to spend Time without a watch! It's the kind of area you can arrive at 4 am and walk alone to find your hostel (i have done it without pb)The small streets are traditionals, the houses colorful. You can visit the historical center, go to the Beach or do a boat tour.It is perfect if you want to go out from the crazy Life style of rio / spBuses from/to sao paulo are 54 reas (5 to 6 buses With the company called "reunidas" -6 hours ) Buses from/To rio de JAneiro are 65,50 reas (many buses With the company called "Costa verde" - 4:30 hours)You must go to trinidade from paraty (for one day) It is worth itEnjoy paraty and around!!!
If you visit Paraty youy really must spend a day on the water and see the spectacular sights of Paraty bay and its islands. Impossibly beautiful islands galore made all the more interesting by the fact that these v ery islands used to be infested with Pirates hell-bent on raiding ships laden with Gold as they departed the Port of Paraty. There are many ways to see the bay Schooners offer day cruises from about $30 each and represent great value. Then there are small and slow boats whoch you can charter, or fast (and more expensive) boats which can whizz you from one island to the next (count on $R 300 for 3 hours for these). Luxury cruisers are also available for sole use at a much hgher price. Whichever way you chose, you will still see the same scenery and be capitvated by this very ideallic place.
Mus go and visit th bay with the boat to enjoy the view and all th island. around. lots of fish to be sem in the see
