We stopped by to kill time before checking into our hotel. It was super quiet. We did a scavenger hunt and played games about each climate zone. The IMAX was probably a good show but we were so exhausted from traveling we got a 45 minute nap. There isn't a ton to do for Tweens. There was a little kid area and a lot of things seemed geared for younger kids. Beautiful art gallery. Had a music education section. The bronze statues outside are beautiful. We had a good time and have some great pictures. We needed to kill a few hours and this place did just that.
We were lucky enough to go during the exhibit of animal artists. Amazing works of art in so many different mediums. The globology section was relateable for adults and children. Included in this were "diaramas" which were educational and great to look at.They really gave you a feel for the parts of the world they were demonstrating.
This is a nice museum with a nice variety of animals and activities for kids of all ages. It's especially convenient during cold winter months when you feel 'cooped up' inside. Plenty of room to walk and kids to run - a concession stand/deli and a couple of age appropriate play areas. It is definitely worth the trip!
Best location near Parker to get away with the grand baby and stroll down an enclosed ramp 1,2,3 times. Especially good for the littles who love to ride and look, senses tuned! Exercises the old Grandma without worrying about weather-related issues. And when it is time for the babes to stretch and crawl, there is a room dedicated to just that, complete with Stroller Parking.
it's been a coupleover a year since we were there we took my in-laws really enjoyed the visit this place is awesome
We took our family of five and were out in an hour. There wasn't much to do. You get more bang for your buck at the Museum of Nature and Science.
The kids loved the visiting Lego exhibit. That's why we went. The permanent wildlife exhibit is OK, but might not be very engaging to a lot of kids. Our 5 year old got bored looking at the stuffed/mechanical animals after 15 minutes. It's really geared to older kids say 7 and up. The Imax movies are nice.
A nice theatre showing great Imax movies! The animal exhibits are rather disappointing. A fun movie experience on a cold winter day.
We didn't quite know what to expect from the Wildlife Experience based on the website descriptions. Now that we've seen it, it makes more sense. It's basically a modern take on typical museums with motion-activated animals and people in the diorama scenes instead of everything being stuffed. You can walk through different habitats and see all the animals. Along the way, there are interactive computer kiosks where you can test your knowledge. There is also a sound exhibit where you can listen to different animal sounds and make some of your own noise in an enclosed music room. We did go see the 3D shark movie, so we didn't have time to go through all of the exhibits. It would be worth another trip someday to catch those.
This museum was privately owned and was donated to be a part of the C S U campus. A large part has been converted to classrooms. The main museum is still intact but the future of the museum is unknown. They have cancelled all memberships. It was a fun place to take the kids during cold afternoons and although it was very large you could probably see everything in an hour, so kind of expensive if your looking to entertain and you have a few kiddos.
