I have subscribed to every season of The Gamm for the past nine years so it's obvious that I find it outstanding. It's theater with an edge that keeps it refreshing and engaging. All aspects, acting, directing, sets are always the best. Two friends and I come "all the way from Charlestown."
Performances of the actors are always convincing and effective; intimate venue makes an evening at Gamm a pleasure.
The venue is a smaller theatre and the stadium style seating isn't the most comfortable, but the shows here are always well done and interesting. Can be a bit pricey but we like supporting local talent.
Been attending the Gamm since it was on Elbow street in Providence. I was hooked on Macbeth with moving and rotating audience seating in the days of Niles. Tony Estrella does a wonderful job, as did character actors such as Sam Babbitt. This small theatre group always puts on a great theatric production and chooses varied themes , actors, and scenes that always impress and often are amusing. A fun and worthwhile way to spend your time. The theatre's seating gives all a fair view and is semi comfortable. Hamlet was fantastic
This small theater is a true gem. Due to the size, there is not a bad seat. The play we saw was really good. The only problem was the lack of organization at the box office. The process for will call was slow. We will be back!
My husband and I had received two tickets to the Gamm Theater from a fundraising auction and decided to pick a play to see. Years ago I had seen the Santa Diaries there and it was hysterical, so we pulled out the list of shows to see what we could fit into our pre holiday schedule. With the certificate you need to use it via mail or go to the box office in person. There are, of course some restrictions as were to be expected. We took the short drive to the box office and they had two seats available for that night to see "Good People". My husband had never seen a play there and I told him it I a very small venue - all seats appear to be good seats. The girl printed out our tickets and we headed home to eat, then head back for the show. The performance was great - a very funny, moving play that received very good reviews. You can purchase snacks, water, beer and wine while you are there as well.I am all for supporting local businesses and venues, and this is one I will certainly return to! We're keeping our eyes open to see what is playing so we my plan another very enjoyable "date night" I'd recommend the Gamm to anyone looking for a great experience.
Saw Anne Boleyn last night. Great production. All of the actors were professional and gave great performances.I would go again and encourage others for a nice night out.
The Gamm Theater in Pawtucket was a great surprise. It's a small/intimate setting, but the play we saw (Hedda Gabbler) was excellent. The actors were all experienced professionals - comparable to and in some cases even better than you would find at Trinity Rep in Providence. They offer a variety of plays year-round, so it is worth checking out.
This little theater in Pawtucket, Rhode Island is an excellent example of hard work and talent tucked away in the arts section of the city. If you have little children, you should check to see if the play is appropriate. The plays are thought provocking. . .
The theater company always puts on an enjoyable program and for some plays get audience participation. I have always had a good time.
